Which actors have never joined the MCU that would have been awesome

Or Sean Penn would have been great as Tony Stark...Joaquin Phoenix would have been awesome as Stephen Strange

Phoenix probably would've done it if it was a one-and-done, but since he'd be tied down to a multiple picture deal, it's probably why he dipped. Though then you hear him and Todd Phillips talk about potentially following up Joker and maybe there's something in Strange that Phoenix didn't dig.

Leonardo DiCaprio is another one

Christian Slater. I don't know who to cast him as, but he's an underrated actor who should be part of the MCU.

I also nominate John Cusack, I think Damage Control deserve more story attention, and he should be a project manager or be in another big role in that story.

Timothy Olyphant. Very underrated actor. And I still hope those rumors of Cavill as Wolverine are true.

matthew mcconaughey i think he would make good norman osborn !! I heard at one time Matt Damon was offered to play scorpion in spider-man movie be he turned it down!! i thought one time back in the earlier 1980s to 1990s micheal j fox would have made aweosme peter Parker / spider-man!! I also thought Jonathan LaPaglia he best know for playing frank Parker in the 1990s time travel show seven days!! i thought he would have made good gambit in the x-men movies!!

He's 6'1".
So what man? Wasn't Jackman like 6'3 or something like that? Wolverine is never shown in the comics to be 5'3 anyway. Most of the time he comes off as 5'8-5'10. Cavill being the new face of the MCU, especially now that Evans and RDJ is gone is a good thing.

We've had a Wolverine who towers over most X-men for 20 years. Would it be so bad to try out the comics this time?

Show me these comics where he's 5'8"-5'10".

lol, his height absolutely don’t makes a difference to his character, does it?
Or did he saved the world, because he was big enough to get the pickles jar off the shelf, that anybody couldn’t?

A good thing? He failed as the "face" of the DCEU and he made a lousy Superman, why should we settle for him for Wolverine. Feige can bag a better actor.

So he doesn't need to be tall then LMAO You need a better example.

Read most Wolverine comics. He is not 5'3 most of the time! Nowhere near it.

How is it Cavill's fault for the Martha scene? They needed better writers and could have made him smile for once. Had nothing to do with Cavill. You really are kind of nitpicking.

I do read the comics thanks.

5'3" isn't anywhere close to 6'1" "Nowhere near it."

I wouldn't mind if he was 5'8" or shorter in the eventual MCU. As long as he doesn't tower over other heroes. Cavill will.

Is the Martha scene really the only thing people complain about Cavill? Is Cavill a good Superman/Clark Kent if you erase the Martha scene? Would him smiling have made MOS, BvS and JL better?

Besides, you're the one who suggested he was a "good face" for DCEU, and people should just be okay with having an actor that failed from a different franchise transfer over to their favourite franchise.

speaking of Dr. Strange casting rumors I recall Ethan Hawks name being tossed around, an I rather supported it at the time.... I wouldn't mind seeing him in another role down the line, he'd make a nice addition to the MCU

Come to think of it Ethan Hawke as Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic

I know it’s WGTC, but I was surprised, how many of those rumors I read there in 2020 turned out to be true...
And after Christian Bale is now in the MCU, everything is possible.

So what’s your choice for Leo?
Mine is Norman Osbourne

Love Tom Cruise; I’d still love for him to drop into the MCU. My current pick for him is Corsair, father of Scott Summers & pirate leader of the Starjammers.

Check out the old Marvel universe which describes him as 5'5" and any of the Xmen comics drawn by John Byrne. Wolverine is barely taller than a 13 year old Kitty Pryde. He's short man, which is kind of the point, because Wolverines are disproportionately ferocious to their size.

If Cavill could play any Marvel character he's absolutely perfect for Captain Britain- right physique and already has the accent/mannerisms.

Also, the MCU is lucky to have Cumberbatch as Strange, because he's made a C list superhero a household name. Perfect casting choice IMHO.

Agreed on Cumberbatch—really like Strange now and that’s definitely in part due to his portrayal.

As for Captain Britain, Edward Holcroft would be a good choice too
