Homecoming Which Avenger would you like in the movie and in what capacity?

Hulk as a past enemy of Rhino or maybe to help Spidey beat Rhino.

None, Spidey should struggle and learn things on his own. Plus he's best by himself, doesn't need any boost from any other characters. Let him join in with the Avengers when he feels like it, which is the way it should be, or at least should be portrayed and come across

I think it's going to depend on what story they go with. If they introduce someone like Felicia Hardy, they could go into detail about her father Walter Hardy being at the Captain America experiment like they did in the comics. Could be an easy way of bringing in Captain America for a cameo.

I'm kind of hoping it's just going to be a small role.

Iron Man. He would fit in as an idolized mentor figure for the scientifically-minded Peter Parker. Of the main Avengers, I think he's the one that Peter meshes with the best.
Agreed. They're similar but also at other ends of the spectrum in terms of finances and age. I like that mix.

I don't know his personality is boundto change at least a little after AoU and Civil War. He can definitely become a mentor type to Peter since Cap will probably be out after CW.

He probably just be arrested or goes into hiding to what ever parts of infinity he is in.

Robert Downey Jr. will never appear in one of Sony's MCU Spidey films, as the studio would have to pay him an exorbitant amount of money for what would likely only amount to a secondary/tertiary role.

Never say never. What did he cost for the Avengers (a lead role) around 50M? Even to pay him half of that to have a few key scenes in Spidey's solo movie would surley rake in more than it would cost them. RDJ in a Spider-Man movie would be a billion dollar contender.

RDJ demanded that he be paid 50m for his starring role in Avengers; there's no chance in heck he'd accept any less than that for a secondary/tertiary role, and there's no chance in heck that Sony would actually agree to pay him that unless they were willing to shell out at least that much, if not more, for the film's actual LEADS (which isn't going to happen since it'd push the budget up so high that there's no possible way they could recoup what they'd spent).

One of my biggest worries is that they will fill it with cameos just to prove to the general audience that it's now part of the larger Marvel universe.

Ideally I wouldn't want any. This is a Spider-Man movie, I wouldn't want him to be overshadowed in his own film.

Exactly.

Let him play in the Marvel sandbox when he's in their films, but aside from that, I want to see him be alone (minus a few references, like Stark Industries, etc.).

it makes sense for Nick Fury to be the go-between for Pete/Spidey and the Avengers, as well as a revitalized and reunited SHIELD...

I can actually envision a defensive Spidey and a no-nonsense Nick facing off and Nick telling Spidey how things really are in the world and how he should get on the same page with some heavy-hitting professionals like the Avengers and that having such back-up isn't really such a bad thing to have...

though it WOULD be cool to have a non-Avenger and someone more similar to Spidey as a warm-up and team-up partner like Charlie Cox's Daredevil as a kind of a preparation for Spidey before partnering-up with the big boys like the Avengers...

I honestly don't mind who comes in, as long as they aren't a mentor. Spidey was never a sidekick or part of a team. What made him interesting was he was a dumb kid all by himself and he made his own mistakes. He's figured out his own way and had to solve his problems on his own. The fact that he was just a kid, in another universe he'd be a sidekick. He'd be a Robin or a Bucky, but instead, he's his own hero. That's what made him so unique.

Hell, Spidey was always something of a rebellious teen figure. Everyone's against him, branding him a menace or a threat, and he's never been part of any real team. He even rejected Avengers membership in the original comics. And the whole power/responsibility thing loses a lot of weight when he can just run to big brother for help.

The whole mentor thing just goes against what makes Spidey interesting in the first place. If anything, it'd feel more true to Spider-Man if Cap or Tony ended up being more of an opposing figure, telling him it's too dangerous for a kid and he should hang up the mask. But a mentor just doesn't sit right.

i wouldnt say it would not be possible. It wouldnt make any sense not to be able to see any mcu heroes/support folks show up in the solo films. These films are not going to be within the mcu. So there is no reason beyond the writers or x actor not wanting to appear in it. That they wouldnt have someone show up. Now i agree with most for the solo films we shouldnt have any avengers ie stark/cap/etc..... have a huge supporting player role. A small role/cameo appearance yes. I rather with the solo films focus more on spidey and his wonderful web of characters we yet to see properly used in a film series.

Agree with all of this.

Spidey doesn't need a mentor in Iron Man or Captain America and Marvel shouldn't try to shoehorn members of The Avengers into Spidey's solo movies.

This and this.

When I said Tony Stark could be a mentor figure for Parker, I didn't mean in the sense of making Spider-Man his sidekick. More that he could be an idolized figure that Peter aspires to be and learns from. Kind of like how he was used in Amazing Friends or the first part of Civil War before Tony went off the rails. Peter has had several mentor figures over the years (such as Curt Connors), so it wouldn't really be out of place.

Spider-Man battling against Super-villains on his own with Nick Fury appearing in the post credits to invite Spider-Man to the Avengers.

I almost wouldnt mind a cameo in every installment.

Daredevil teamup
Iron Spider beta testing
Captain America giving him a handshake.
