Sequels Which characters should appear in Dark Phoenix?

Well I want to see Xavier, Phoenix, Jubilee, Nightcrawler, Cyclops to return. Well I guess Storm too even though I don't like Shipp. I guess Beast too but I just don't like Nicholas Hoult in the role as well.

I am sick and tired of Magneto, Raven, Erik, Mystique and those two. So God, at least make up for that Fox even though Kinberg is almost official to direct this thing. I also don't want Quicksilver, as a big time comic reader, Quicksilver has never Joined the X-Men. And he just outshone the actual X-Men in Apocalypse. I don't want to see that again in Dark Phoenix. No Moira too and that forced crush thing.

I would love to see other new faces join the X-Men like Dazzler, Polaris, Forge or Sunfire but I don't think they have enough room for them. Maybe who knows, if Kinberg will turn another big time X-Men in a silent henchman role or an extra.

I honestly can say that I only want the original x-men as the main characters.

They already introduced to us in X-Men First Class the young Beast, in X-men Apocalypse the young Cyclops, Jean and Angel, now all that is missing is young Iceman.

For the X-Men team I want Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Angel and Iceman.

As secondary characters Nightcrawler, Jubilation, Storm and maybe some of the new mutant characters like Magik.

As for villains for the Hellfire club Id like to see Emma Frost returning and being revealed that she faked her death during the events of Days of Future Past, plus Selene and Psylocke being a new member of the Hellfire club and discovering that she also has telepathic powers. Selene, Emma Frost and Psylocke are more than enough challenge to the X-men until they wake the real challenge, the Dark Phoenix.

I don't even want to see Xavier in this movie. Fox, if you read this, heres a suggestion "In the movie Cyclops and Jean says, too bad Xavier, Magneto and Mystique had to go to that mission in Moon and we can't communicate with them". And thats it. No Mystique, no Magneto, no Xavier.

If they go the space direction, I'd expect the Shi'ar to be the new characters and no new X-men. I could see them casting an a-list actress for Lilandra.

Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Nightcrawler, Storm, Jubilee - they went to the trouble of introducing these characters, might as well use them.
Prof. X and Beast - the adults in the room. Beast might be needed for at technological solution to any Dark Phoenix problems.
Dazzler - she's in the original story and I wanted to pick a never before seen character. She's different enough in personality that I don't think she'll overlap with Jubilee because of the power set.

Dazzler's inclusion would make me anticipate this movie despite the lackluster creative team attached to it.

I like this line up although I won't be sad if Moira, Quicksilver won't return. Rumor has it Psylocke is supposedly returning in X-Force. If they have to add another mutant it's time for Gambit to make his debut.

I want Moira and Quicksilver there more for continuities sake. Or at least an actual explanation for their absences if they aren't there (no X3 Nightcrawler situation here please).

Psylocke, she just needs to get to be an actual character (as opposed to a glorified stuntwoman) finally.

I still also kind of want them to bring Emma Frost back and actually do stuff with her as well. I don't care if it's a retcon, we never actually saw her body in DOFP.

I also feel like, if you're going to do the Dark Phoenix, you must be careful NOT to overload on characters again, and especially overload on villains.

I would give this movie more chance if they feature Psylocke again and if they try to give her a fiercer role. Anyway a lot of these established characters should be used again instead of introducing a new face that won't have a lot of dialogue.

As someone who cringes at the thought of Kinberg not only writing this but also directing, the only way I'll be excited for this is if they go all out. Costumes, space, no mute X-men. I don't have much faith.

I shudder at the thought of "Directed by Simon Kinberg" too, but as an X-Men fan I probably won't help but be excited at the prospect of a movie truly centered around Jean, her relationships, and the team's conflict.

I would probably choose Sinister and his Marauders as foes if they stay on Earth, Shi'ar and Imperial Guard if they go to Space, no more reboots or retcons of characters please (Hellfire Club). Their fault for not planning ahead.

All of this...I agree about Emma, she's a telepath, she can definitely fake her own death.

The Hellfire Club could definitely be brought back as antagonists. You could have Emma have felt Jean's Phoenix flare and want to acquire her for the Club's benefit.

You could introduce Leland, Wyngarde and maybe, Shaw's son, Shinobi Shaw as the new Hellfire Club.

I think this needs to a be a two-part movie though. I would say no Mags or Mysty though.

Now I've previously stated here on this board that I wouldn't be opposed to an original story of Sinister being the cause of the Dark Phoenix. It would fit with comic history in that he has always been obsessed with her (and Scott) and I do believe he has sought her as a weapon to oppose Apoc in the AOA timeline if I'm remembering correctly...

After the worldwide events of X:A, mutants could be on the underbelly of society once again with Mags still a fugitive and Apoc demised unclear. Sinister could be revealed to be a follower of Apoc that rebelled and is now trying to finds ways to destroy him. The Marauders are genetic manipulations/mutates he has "perfected" (which we can revive Riptide, now with white hair and different abilities) to serve as bodyguards/strike force.

Jean is the ultimate weapon, the only being that has managed to "defeat" him and he wants to unlock her power to destroy him. So now you have Sinister, who is willing to destroy Jean to end Apoc but then everyone might be screwed as Dark Phoenix is the threat they all need to stop as a result of his manipulations.

Only thing is, I would play up Sinister's psy abilities a little more than the comics to make it plausible at his manipulating Jean.

Sinister seems to be getting suggested more and more. I wouldn't use him here. I don't like the idea of jumping right into cosmic characters either. Those should be saved for a part 2. I like the idea of telepathic/reality warping villains trying to take advantage of Jean and having it backfire. So I'd use the Hellfire club. retread or not. Don't care.
