We all look forward to flicks that open between May-July and Nov. and Dec., but what about the rest of the year? Occasionally there are some decent things released, but these are viewed as the "dead" months. Is there a month that has, year after year, pretty much remained faithful as the worst movie month?

February usually has some pretty crappy movies...and September. Those IMO are the worst months for movies. March sometimes is good but usuall has abunch of dumb spoof movies and maybe one quality flick.

    That's a good question, Terry.

January is usually kinda lame. HOWEVER...it's also the month where the "limited released" Oscar pictures get a wide release. And its also the month that people check out the movies that were already in wide release but ignored till the Oscar nomination.

February is a bad month for guys, but girls like it cause of all the romantic comedies being released cause of Valentines.

March used to suck, but 300 changed that.

April used to suck, but QT and Robert Rodriguez changed that.

August is really not THAT bad. Yea, all the "big" movies have already been released by this point but you're still gonna get stuff like Superbad and the Bourne movies.

September DOES suck. I can't think of anything good except some indie flicks here and there.

October is horror month. All the horror movies are released during that month. So if you're a fan of the genre then you'll enjoy that month.

    So...I'll go with September.

September. In January & February you usually have Academy Award nominated films getting wide releases so at least there is that to watch. Sometimes you might get a film or two to watch in September, but for the most part it is a dead zone between the big summer film season and the big Holiday film season.

We usually get one or two decent flicks and a good comedy in August, right before school starts. August is an ok month.

September. That month has never been a good one for movies. You always get the rejected summer movies and the pre-holiday crap.

I've noticed that comedies tend to be released in August. In May, June, and July you get the action and sci fi but August you get stuff like Superbad, American Pie, Talladega Nights, etc. So...if you're a comedy fan then August is a good month.

It's either February or September for me. It's not August because that is the month when you have the dark horse summer films. Catman spelled it out nicely.

    I'll pick September.

September is pretty bad because all the fun is usually over at that point... January stinks too... as do the April tune ups... February is also pretty bad...

March, April and September. October to Feburary is Oscar Season, May to August is block buster season. March, April and September feature movies that weren't good enough for either season. Occasionally you get a jewl but most is crap.
