If anything, which studio should buy the rights to DC Comics well DC Films as a whole? Personally I want Warner Brothers to lose the rights to DC and why? The whole universe has basically failed under them and a new start with a new studio could help as far as the universe going in a whole new direction. Marvel's rights were bought by Disney so with DC if they were to leave Warner Brothers, it could be the best thing going forward.

See my signature. Sear it into your mind.

Sony or MGM buying the rights to DC I wouldn't be opposed to that hell anything at this point beats Warner Brothers

Hell I would even go Universal Studios getting the rights to DC as a whole...anything would be better at this point

Sony is just the worst

I’ll take WB any day of the week over Sony. That studio is the armpit of Hollywood.

Well Warner Brothers hasn't done DC or its universe any favors because the studio keeps interfering in projects hence the backlash for almost all of their films

WB has had a bad streak

But sony is just the worst. They ruin everything. The only time they release good stuff is when they stay out of it and let the talent do their thing.

That is true but then which other studios could DC benefit from moving their universe to? I mean there is Universal, Fox, MGM or Entertainment One (eOne Films), Lionsgate or Alliance Films

The first mistake WB made was hiring a director as risky as Zack Snyder. The interference came because they lost faith in him after Man of Steel wasn't as big a critical and commercial success as they had hoped. It's not as if his DCEU films would have been as successful and as loved as the Nolan Batman trilogy if they had left him to his own devices. It probably would have just been more Man of Steel. Not horrible but way below expectations, divisive among fans, audiences, and critics.

Amazon Studios or Netflix.

miller has me convinced that Amazon Studios is the right move. I don't know how plausible it actually is, but I'd love to see something like it.

Amazon or Netflix nabbing a bank of valuable IP’s like DC would be disruptive enough to turn everyone’s head in Hollywood. It’d be the first time in a long time that the folks at Marvel would actually start getting nervous.

Amazon would probably be the best. They have the money and the platform.

Amazon, Netflix or Universal .

Warner: Batman, Batman universe, Batman...

I want everyone to get a chance to shine.

Obviously, the Asylum.

Seriously, isn't MGM owned/controlled by Sony, or was that reversed? And I liked Universal's The Incredible Hulk (but not the first one) but I admit it wasn't real successful and as new home to DC it probably wouldn't be real successful. No reason WB can't work. I think a significant problem with DCEU was just starting so soon after the Dark Knight films, almost to where Batman on film is competing with itself (its recent predecessor).

I agree that DC should forget about the movies, and focus on shows. It'd have to be way higher quality than the CW stuff, but they could dominate the tv side. Get Amazon to do it.

I've been dreaming of a HBO level Batman series for years.

You mean who should buy WB? Because WB would never put DC up for sell, plus WB & DC together would be a whole lot more valuable to the buyer because WB would be the distributor if there is none (Ex. Netflix/Amazon)

Also outside of the films, DC is doing quite well

Lets knock this one on the head once and for all.

DC Entertainment and DC Films are subsidiaries of Warner Bros, which is in turn a subsidiary of Time Warner.

Any subsidiary or asset of a parent company can be sold off in whole or in part.

It would not be WB’s decision to put DC up for sale, it would be Time Warner’s. And yes, they would most certainly put DC up for sale, should it prove to be the best financial move for them, should the merger fall through. If the board and shareholders want it, it would happen.

Amazon wouldn’t give two ****s about WB’s distribution capabilities, because they have their own.

Why Amazon (or Netflix, for that matter) though?

1. Money
2. Strong desire to have popular IP for their content channel.
3. A complete disregard of the traditional Hollywood system that stifles creativity and risk.
4. Streaming media is the future.
5. Did I mention money?
