But Scott without Jean would give him a chance to shine as his own man and not just Jean's boyfriend.

I do believe that the studio anticipated this backlash over Cyke's death, so they kept it in, but left a backdoor to bring him back. He'd be great leading the younger team... And it would be great to see him put his life back together AFTER Jean... (though I'd love a Famke cameo, either in dreams, flashbacks, or hallucinations thanks to Emma Frost)

Cyke - easily.

If only because if he doesn't, Storm (aka Halle) will be the team leader.

Oh, by the way. Can anyone tell me why Cyclops' shades didn't shatter into a trazillion pieces along with the rest of his body? And because it didn't, could that mean he isn't truly dead?

No X-men ever dies :whatever: Scott's 'death' was never shown and his shades played an important role. They made Jean remember what happened to Scott :wow:

Cyke, Psylocke and the Prof should all make a miraculous recovery. The others should stay dead.

I'm not keen on the Prof's resurrection story they seem to be coming up with though.

...don't know...can't decide between Scott and Jean.

Well for me, it goes like this... I chose Scott but in a way, even Jean and vise versa.

Jsut watched the DVD with my brother who'd never seen it. He hated it because it killed or stripped away the powers of most of the characters. He's convinced that Scott was killed just like the professor.

I still think it is possible to undo his demise, if they choose to.

Or maybe make an X4 prequel with Scott, Jean, Hank, and Storm BEFORE Logan.

They didn't say Quill's name either . . . come to think of it, they don't even say Callisto's name.

On a side note, if a character is going to be introduced in a superhero movie (in any movie for that matter) that has more than a cameo role, effectively replaces other major characters (Mystique), has multiple one-on-one conflicts with major characters (Storm), has more screentime than a number of the X-Men themselves, and is used in a number of adverts, it would probably be best to follow the basic conventions of storytelling and give the said character a name in the actual movie.

I agree.

Introductions can be a little corny if not done carefully, it's like addressing the audience directly. But X1 managed it quite well, X2 only used Yuriko rather than Deathstrike, but nonetheless she did have a name.

X3 should have found some way of introducing Callisto, Quill and also Psylocke. Magneto should have used their names at Jean's house, looking at each of them as he did so. 'Arclight, Quill, Callisto, stay on guard'.

(Interestingly the novel has the light emitter Radian at Jean's house. And I feel sure Kid Omega evolved into Quill at some point during the movie production, as Kid Omega has a weird hairdo that is sort of simlar to Quill's hair when he has the spines up)

I'm really curious if its true that Ratner asked to release the film at a later date so he could have more time to finish it... I mean what version would that one have been like than the one we got?
