So true, bring them back and give them the good stroy and writing they deserve, its like they where just thrown to the side and not cared about.
First of all, how can Jean be back if this time she was buried in a coffin? Ugh, way too much. She can't just pull a a Beatrix Kiddo. On X2, it is explained that she never really died, this is why she came back. Please, no ressurection from Jean. But HOW would they come back? What could, should, would happen? Does everyone forgive Jean for blasting Xavier and life gets back to normal at the mansion? What power levels would she have, what about the other pesonality and the powers she cannot control? There has to be logic, not just fanboy demands.
He did start off with potential. I think the writers and the studio really focused too much on Wolverine in the series...
That said, in Wolverine's absence (or cameo only) Scott could really be allowed to shine. He could be a completely changed man. If Jean's death left him reckless, irresponsible, and unkempt. Then his near-death experience could make him stronger, more determined, and a bit of a hardened badass. I'd love to see him throw down with a rebellious student (Gambit) and show him who's boss...
I also agree about characters. Introducing one or two new characters per movie is more than enough... And that includes the villain.
The way Cyclops was portrayed was not Marsden's fault but the writers and studios. Lines in X1 like " a boy like me saved you" and telling Storm to shoot lightning into the statue of liberty only to be dissed and shown as ignorant by Magneto did not help establish him as an able or competent leader.
The problem in the movies is they made Scott little more than Jean's boyfriend. Hopefully, they'll bring him back as the leader and strategist he is supposed to be. And I still think James Marsden was born to play this role, the writers just need to give him something to play.
Hey,
I've started a Cyclops Tribute page on Facebook groups and could use all of your support! It's called "Cyclops (Scott Summers) Tribute Page"
Thanks
