Today, out of boredom I googled "Wolverine vs [insert character here]" and read various forums concerning Wolverine vs. any and all characters you can think of. Wolverine vs. Batman, Spider-Man, the Thing, Iron Man, the Hulk, Venom, Superman, Conan the Barbarian, Santa Claus, the Silver Surfer, Galactus(!), Dr. Doom, Aunt May, Darth Vader, Brock Samson, Thor, Ultron, Bruce fu@#ing Lee, etc., etc..

The debate was heated in every single discussion examined. Even if Wolverine's opponent is an exceptionally skilled and experienced fighter, just as fast as him, nigh-invulnerable, and hundreds of times stronger (like the Thing), Wolverine always has at least a 50/50 chance by popular opinion.

By my way of thinking, Wolverine simply doesn't rank very high on the List of Hierarchical Rankings of Asskickery. Yeah, he's got the cut-through-anything knives, the super-healing *cough* - excuse me, the healing factor, and unbreakable bones but thats it. I don't understand how putting him up against most other comic book-type characters is anything but a complete mismatch.

So my question is...who couldn't Wolverine beat? Is there anyone against whom he would stand no chance in He11, or is he simply the most dangerous, most badass character of All Time?

Easy. Magneto. Logan got OWNED in Fatal Attractions

Wolverine was able to defeat him in Eve of Destruction but that was only bc of Jean's telepathic influence helping him and tricking Magneto. In a one on one battle, I dont think he'd really stand much of a real shot against him

LOL, apparently not. The "Wolverine Can Beat Anybody Crowd" tend to not mention that one much...kind of hard to argue with.

Another good one I just remembered is from Fantastic Four vs The X-Men (1987) when the Thing confronts Wolverine. The "fight" doesn't last long.

Wolverine gets spanked like a red-headed stepchild with next to zero effort on the part of the Thing.

I know for a fact that the Wolverine vs. Hulk battles favor the Hulk.

Hold on a tick, I'll come back with the win-loss count to boot.

EDIT: According to the Leader's Lair site, the current score as of WWH is Hulk 5, Wolverine 1...

he couldnt beat...Galactus or Silver Surfer, Vulcan, Thanos, Adam Warlock, but Death..yeah...he's got her beat

Most if not all of the cosmic characters, Xavier, Storm, hell, he shouldn't be to beat ALOT of his teammates.

Let's be real. Wolverine wouldn't be able to beat Armor. Granted, she wouldn't be able to beat him either, but everything he threw at her would literally have no effect. His claws can break through her armor, but his skin can't, and we saw that his claws stop just short of actually reaching her.

who would win in a fight? armor or reyes?

Well, Reyes can apparently destroy the Earth if her powers are left unchecked. :whatever:

Of course, I imagine the same would be true about Armor if Claremont got his greasy mitts on her.

but...wha???...um...aren't reyes's powers mostly defensive? they friggin protect her from harm...even when she is being offensive they are defensive.....what the **** did claremont do to her?

maybe this is a new revelation from NYX, bc I havent read it. Yeah, Reyes powers were only offensive when we first saw her. All her shield did was protect her from physical harm but she still felt all the pain. Then CC got a hold of her, made her a drug addict and had her using her shield offfensively to form shapes and attack as if she was the Invisible Woman

Wolverine: Enemy of the State = Bull

Staying in the Marvel Comic universe; Magneto, Polaris, Phoenix, Rogue, Juggernaut, Warlock, Armor, Hellion, X-23(It would end up being a draw), the Thing, Silver Surfer, Thor...I'm sure there's more.

Misty Knight could beat Wolverine. Her bionic arm is made of antarctic vibranium, the kind of vibranium that destroys other metals. Someone attacked her with an adamantium sword once, and the sword melted/warped on impact with her wrist.

psylocke in either her telepathic or telekinetic state would win. i think, def/ the telekinetic.....

Anybody can beat anybody . . . within reason (I'm looking in your direction editors of "Dazzler.")

Cyclops should be able to blast his head off. Colossus always seems to draw Wolverine in the X-men vs X-men splash pages and is usually holding him in one hand and getting scratched. He could just as easily "Ultimate Hulk" him into two pieces and toss them miles away. Wolverine could also kill them or Superman or the goddamn Batman.

There's also Adam Destine since he's indestructible. I'm not sure Adam could beat Wolverine, though, so I figure it would just be them beating on each other until they were bored.

The cosmics are out of Logan's class easily. No question.

The rest though, depends on situation. I continue to be dumbfounded by the writers who choose to ignore Logan's training and make him just a savage. That is stupid writing. He has been around for 130 years. He has trained all over the world in multiple forms of combat.

Now the Thing? I seem to recall Mr Grimm having to wear a stupid bucket helmet due to Logan giving him an adamantium facial years ago.

I say this as a big Wolverine fan, but people over-estimate Logan to ridiculous extents. You don't need to look toward Silver Surfer and the like to find someone that can take him down. ****, that pointy-eared logical ****er above took him out by *pinching* him.

Batman and Captain America could take Wolverine out 4 times out of 5. of course, this is referring to well written Wolverine, not "I heal from a charred skeleton in seconds" Wolvie.

also remember newbie Marrow beat him as well.

she didnt really beat so much as got some great shots in causing him to go beserk and potentially gut her ass.

Wolverine's endurance and experience would see him prevail over Armor.

It wasn't even that she got some great shots in in a fair fight. Wolverine had her down, offered her a hand up and she stuck a bone in his throat. If it wasn't for Cannonball busting in, Wolvie would have carved her up.

How? He wouldn't be able to stab her. Her armor gives her the strength and endurance to take any punch or kick thrown at her. If she just stood there, he'd have a hell of a time hurting her. If she tried to fight back, however, he'd be able to use that to his advantage.
