I have always liked Christian Bale. Even Reign of Fire :P. I do not see why we should be proud or anything. The more people are into him the better I say. We'll see even more of him in future projects.

The idea of "jumping on the bandwagon" (the title of this thread totally implies this notion) only bothers me with sports. People who jump on and off depending on the performance of the team. With actors and other assorted filmmakers people tend to stick with actors through thick and thin (which is actually kinda strange now that I think of it). I myself am still an Affleck fan even though I know he has made a gazillion stinkers.

I had always hoped on an unknown to play bruce wayne, sometimes (and i use that term strongly) I think about Jason Bateman playing bruce wayne (think about it). At even worse times I think what Will Arnett would be like as The Joker, or even The Riddler.

Jason Bateman? I love AD too, but I'm really not seeing it. haha. I think an unknown would've hurt the movie. I think the calibur of star of Boreanaz and Bale is right for the role of Batman. You need a known actor, but not a big name.

He's a suprisingly good actor, like bale he tends to get into his roles not just act them from the script. Given though he doesn't have that dark, brooding aura about him. Boreanaz to me doesn't have the chops. It's all a coulda shoulda thing now, it's hard to picture anyone else in these films at the moment than bale.

Oh, I agree Bateman is talented...but for Bats? I like him better as the dry yet humorous characters he usually plays.

As for Boreanaz...hmm, watch Bones and then tell me he lacks the chops.

True, but did you see him in smoking aces as well? totally different character and he absolotuly stole the show and was only on screen for about 3 minutes.

I've seen him in bones, angel, buffy and that crappy crow movie. to me he's just a one note actor, don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean I don't like him in the roles, I just want someone who can really sink in to the psyche of bruce wayne

I've yet to see Smoking Aces. I didn't even know Bateman was in it. Now you got me excited.

I agree that he is a one trick pony, but I think he is very good at the one trick he does and said trick would work well for Batman. Bruce Wayne, I can see your point...but I think when he puts on the cape and cowl he would be perfect.

ahh man, his cameo in smoking aces is classic, he plays a drunk/stoned lawyer, complete with cold soars everywhere, it's hilarious.

We have Bale so thinking anyone else is pointless until his contract is up

Empire of the Sun was one of the first DVDs I got. A very underated Spielberg film. Check it out if you haven't seen it.

Before his casting as Batman I had seen Bale on American Psycho and was envious at his well toned physique and then when his casting was announced I rented Equilibrium and was happy he would be Batman.

Shaft 2000, then Empire of the Sun. Saw him in Equilibrium in theaters and thats about when I became a fan. One of the best actors of our time.
