Who is Supernova

And since my last post the guy has still only had three lines.

I guess "Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt" Unfortuanately I've never been able to do this.

I'm hoping it's Will Payton.

I was thinking that's who Supernova would end up being. it would make sense given Ralph's comment about Superman's disappearance being the key since Payton once filled in for him, and would also account for Luthor's reaction if Payton was mimicking Superman's posture and mannerism using his abilities.

You know, I think it is Will Payton as well. I remember an interview somewhere with a writer saying he would be back but not the way he was before. That's who I'm going with.

Okay, please don't stone me, but who's Will Payton? *ducks for cover from incoming stones*

This guy:-

He filled in for Superman a while back when Supes didnt have any powers

I'm guessing Payton is the JSA's Starman as well. Payton's merger with Prince Gavin explains both the 'Supernova is really 2 people' comment as well as the schizophrenia Starman seems to be suffering from in JSA.

Supernova is a bloody superman robot, we all know.

not a bad bit of speculation. i'm still sticking with my theory that it's the old LOSH character wildfire, based on the fact that his ex-lover, dawnstar, is the one searching for him and he had similar powers to the ones the new starman displayed in the first issue of js of a. anywhozzles, back on topic...

yeah, the whole Dawnstar thing has me puzzled. wasn't she wiped out of continuity by Zero Hour? Infinite Crisis has made such a mess of things.

again, based on...? present some evidence.

you can prove its not a robot superman, but their is more evidience that supernova is a robot.

i've also got a theory that the term "52" and the entire 52 storyline relates in some way to the events of zero hour being reversed. it's just a hunch, but when the new starman asks "do you know what time it is?" in js of a #1 it was a subtle reference to the zero hour storyline. hence the return of dawnstar and wildfire (as the new starman). since they reversed the events of the COIE, it's not out of the question to think they may reverse the events of zero hour.

such as...?

-he only has spoke like 3 words

-several characters have said his demeanor and mannersiam are either like superman or superboy

-The Galaxy broadcasting symbol[a place Clark kent worked at in pre-crisis times,Clark was an achor man actually] is supernovas costume symbol as well.

-he knows his way to the batcave, a place only a select few know like superman and superboy.

-He carries out his heroic deeds with little emotion and almost boyscoutish nature.

He is a old/lost superman or supeboy Robot from another earth that became somewhat sentient somehow IMO ofcourse.

When was Super Nova in the Batcave?

during 52, he flew into the batcave and was looking around.

thanks Eros, good arguments. I wonder if this has anything to do with the Time Trapper's pocket universe. if it were one of Pre-Crisis Superboy's robots you could also connect Supernova to Starman via Dawnstar since, and correct me if I'm wrong, it was Dawnstar's version of the Legion that the pocket universe connected to.

hate to kill your theory (it is interesting), but ralph knows who supernova is. if ralph knew that he was a robot, why would he go ask the robot to tell cassie that hes not conner? like the robot would give a flying @#$%... ralph would just tell her and possibly unmask it...

I'm gonna go with the original Firestorm guy. Call me crazy, I just like the idea.

If he is Booster, he's gotta be from an alternate future. One that's different from the one "our" Booster came from, otherwise he would've ceased to exist the moment Booster died. Obviously, in his reality he didn't die, so he's surprised to find that Booster did die in this one.

"Our" Booster came before the Crisis when history as we knew it was well, written.. the Crisis changed everything.. note how all the data banks skeets has were changed or not accurate.. "our" Booster was from the era of Hypertime, which is basicly another multiverse.. when the Crisis erased Hypertime everything was reset.. it is possible that the Booster from the Post-Crisis future hasn't shown up yet.. or has and is in the guise of supernova.
