Batman or Superman?

Iron Man is without a doubt the leader of the Avengers even though he may claim otherwise etc. Justice League needs a defined leader

So who should it be?

Superman probably. Or Superman and Batman. Much like the Avengers is all about Captain America and Iron Man.

Superman should be the leader, but Batman should come up with battle plans, and everyone on the team should listen to what he has to say. If Clark is making a bad call, Batman should be the one to call him out on it, but I don't think Batman should want to lead the Justice League, I like the idea of him being a bit reluctant to join at first.

Superman is the leader, Batman is the guy they go to for strategy and whatnot, like in the Avengers

Captain America/Superman: Leader
Iron Man/Batman: Consultant

Superman should be the leader with Batman being in the backseat as a 2nd in command of sorts

Superman should be the face of the team with Batman being the behind the scenes power.

Seems to me like Nick Fury was the leader. He was the one who put them all together and furnished the headquarters (the SHIELD helicarrier). I think this is Zach Snyder's universe and he started it with Superman, so Supes should be the leader.

Superman is without a doubt the leader. I'd actually like it if Batman weren't a permanent member, but someone who helps out when the world is under a global threat.

Batman: "I'm not much of a 'people person'. But when you need help—and you will—call me."

Iron Man isn't the leader... Captain America is.

Anyway, if the Justice League has a defined leader, and I don't think it needs one, Superman is the best and most obvious choice. Batman is skilled tactically, but he isn't inspirational.

The strength of the Justice League is that ANY of them can step up and take on a leadership role.

That said, come on now, we all know it's Superman. With Wonder Woman vying for the role. And Batman's going to do his own thing regardless.

Has to be Superman and Batman...They need each other.

Superman of course! He is the very symbol of heroism and goodness and his actions will forever change the universe for the better.

Batman and Superman will be equally responsible for the establishing of TJL. Bruce will probably, as many say, have a completely different role even if he is also a leader. Offically Supes is the leader and he could pull rank on batman, but would only do it under extreme circumstances. For instance, if Batman would give one order and Superman another, they would choose Superman even if Batman´s orders seem better. This isn´t likely to happen for Superman and Batman either agree or come to an agreement.

Superman will never order Batman, he will instruct him and Batman will do the same. In reality they stand equal between themselves. Outwards it´s Clark that is the leader. All formalities (such as press, lead a JL meeting, take responsibility for JL actions, be the one to welcome you to/fire you from the league) are in some way taken care of by Superman.

It´s hard to explain but I´m hoping for something like that.
What I said in the begining about Supes being symbolic, it has also to do with the fact that he will slowly grow into the role as #1 leader.
Even if Batman plays an equally big part as a leader/establisher in the beginning of the JL days.

You used the perfect word there. I like Batman much more than Supes as a character, but he's still prone to take everything into his own hands. He's a loner as a person and a hero. Superman is the avatar of heroism, and seems to bring that out in others.

Superman should lead meetings and decision making as well as serve as the inspiration for the team, but Batman could be good as a leader in the field since he's a great tactician and all. I actually wouldn't mind if he sat out of a lot of fighting - especially if they end up going against a super powerful, supernatural enemy of sorts. He could make up the plans of attack and work behind the scenes with tech and create diversions etc.

I would like it if Superman is the "Leader" in the sense that he is the one that inspires the team and decides who or what the mission is about. (i.e. "We are taking the fight to Apokalips" or "We need to stop this illegal war from starting.") Of course Batman will be the tactician and strategist that would have his ear the most, and would be the guy to lead any and all covert, under the cover of darkness style missions. Diana? She is the ultimate field commander for a group of superhuman warriors (yep, more so than even ole Batsy!) Even with all they can do, Supes and Bats opinion should be: If you want to clear the table of Bad Guys, just set Diana loose and watch her go to work.

In the live-action film, I never got the notion that Captain America was the leader. But then he was a temporal fish out of water. Nick Fury was the leader, and Tony Stark the brains of the outfit, and leader when Nick Fury was off screen.

Anyway, I would prefer it if the Justice League didn't have a clear leader.

To be fair, Tony did defer to Cap's leadership when it came to who does what when the fighting started. "Cap, call it." or something to that affect.

Superman is the moral center and inspiration.

Batman is the tactical genius behind the scenes.
