Wait... the JL sounds like a cross dresser you would expect Eddie Murphy to pick up.

Supes is lead vocals, Bats is lead guitar, GL is rhythm guitar, Flash is on drums, MM on bass guitar, and Wondy on keyboards.

I would like it if Superman is the "Leader" in the sense that he is the one that inspires the team and decides who or what the mission is about. (i.e. "We are taking the fight to Apokalips" or "We need to stop this illegal war from starting.") Of course Batman will be the tactician and strategist that would have his ear the most, and would be the guy to lead any and all covert, under the cover of darkness style missions. Diana? She is the ultimate field commander for a group of superhuman warriors (yep, more so than even ole Batsy!) Even with all they can do, Supes and Bats opinion should be: If you want to clear the table of Bad Guys, just set Diana loose and watch her go to work.

This is also perfectly stated.

1. Superman = Clear leader. Inspiration for the team. Moral center. General decision-maker (choosing what the team should tackle). Mediator. Diplomat. The guy everyone looks to.

2. Batman = Tactician. Strategist. Classic #2 guy. Provides counter-point to leader. Decides how to conduct missions. The guy everyone fears.

3. Wonder Woman = Field General. Battle planner. Warrior. She pushes the other two leaders to be better at their crafts. She's the voice of the people. The woman everyone respects.

Thanks. I think that super hero characters in the end are bigger than life and idealized. In a super group situation you have all these huge personalities that have one thing in common amongst them: They fight injustice, right that which is wrong and serve all of mankind. (The SuperFriends was corny, but when you boil it all down THAT"S what superheroes do.) They should always be presented as impressive individuals that when they band together are this world's first, best and last line of defense. No one character should make the others seem useless or besides the point. One of my favorite moments in the JL:DOOM DTV was when Batman told Hal he was under fear gas influence. He attempted to give him an antidote and Hal was like, "I don't need it." Why? CUZ HE'S HAL FREAKIN' JORDAN, THE GREEN LANTERN OF SECTOR 2814!! That's why! He's a formidable character even without the ring. The idea that Batman, or Supes, even in leadership positions in the League should just make the others seem silly or pointless misses what's so special about these kinds of teams.

Batman decides what information to give.
Superman decides what to do with the information.
Batman decides how they are going to do what Superman decides to do
WonderWoman makes sure they implement Batman's tactics to achieve Superman's goal, come hell or high water.

GL is there to help them breathe if the big 'it' happened in space.
Wally is there to tell jokes and irritate Batman.
MM is there as a communication device and monotone voice.

I'd hope that the movie doesn't model after the DCAU Justice League. I'm watching the series through again for a third time and I'm no longer amused by Wally's antics in the series. I loved it the first time, tolerated it the second, but now it's almost annoying.

I'd rather not see Wally as Flash in the first JL movie anyway since I think Barry should definitely have a place on the team first before Wally comes in. Especially since Wally's time in the JL is spent trying to live up to his uncle's legacy. Throwing him in immediately without at least referencing Barry would be unfair to either of them as characters really.

The 2nd-half of that was a bit of a joke. I should have put a smiley there.

I have an idea never thought of before: imagine Superman, at the start of JL, takes, I dunno, an immobile granny or Amanda Waller to visit Luthor, but is then ambushed with a Kryptonite gun and sidelined for the duration of the movie. It's then up to Batman to gather the scattered, helpless, childlike JL members to rally against the big bad. Superman makes his humiliating return in the climax only to be overshadowed by Batman again.

In the sequel he mopes and is subsequently killed by BrainiacLois. Who of course Batman stops while the rest of the JL look on. Batman professes his true love of Lois and kills BrainiacLois. In Batman's solo sequel, Lois makes an appearance as Batman's haunted lover, and we are made to believe they, indeed, were soul mates after all.

Knowing Batman he would just tell everyone to make Superman the leader if it came down to them to and would walk away. However, he would continue to do his own thing and tell the rest of the team what to do with Superman asking him questions on how to proceed when he has doubts and is unsure of his course of action.

it seems to me like it will be superman being the leader while batman will pretty much have the same role as he did in the DCAU. he'll be THERE and will still be seen as a founding member, but he'll just be a part time member

Iron Man is not the only leader on the Avengers. The role always alternates between Iron Man and Captain America. In the same way, the role of "leader" always alternates between Batman and Superman on the JL. They're both the main leaders.

Good point. The Avengers were definitely following Cap at the end of the movie. JL could have the same dynamic: Supes forms the League and inspires them, but Bats is the one who trains them to maximize their talents as a group.
