Who is the Man in the Iron Mask?

E2 Garrick could be E2 Henry's brother who chose to go by his mothers name for maybe personal reasons, or a cousin of E2 Henry.

Why ? don't know... yet!!! Maybe for the third season, maybe due to barry going back or in the futur with the tachyon device.

 

I say they'll pull a real shocker on us and reveal that the man in the iron mask is [blackout]the police captain's husband, Rob. And that he's keeping him because of his cooking skills that we learned about in season 1[/blackout] That would really make some jaws drop.

What if Eddie's body ended up in Earth 2, he's resurrected by the event and Zoom learns about him. Imprisoning him he learns about Barry and keeps him masked and gagged to keep his secret.

Maybe the event granted Eddie the beginning of the speedster abilities his ancestor demonstrated what if he can drain the speed force from others a trait Zoom used to depower captive speedsters and empower himself?

Well its an idea!

 

Don't bother, iron mask mister IS Eobard Thawn, we can't do anything to change that.
I can tell you how i know that, no problem, i take no credit for knowing that, a mistake had been made, i'be been at the right place at the right time, that's all.

 

I think they missed an opportunity with Jay that would have made sense and fit back into season 1...

Jay grows up without his father who died in the war of the Americas. Using his fathers helmet he becomes the Flash. One day battling with Zoom he accidentally time travels. Realizing he can change time he saves his dad who turns out to be a wife beating drunk who kills his mother. Jay gets sent away to live with the Zolomans and no longer wants anything to do with his father and becomes Hunter Z. AKA Zoom. Zoom killed E1 Jay who was promised the chance to be E2 flash if he helped perfect V9.

It explains Barry stopping himself in the S1 finale, A real hero Jay in the mask, his rival zoom, and get rid of the bogus time remnant copout.

 

lol it still amounts to the same thing as the time Remanent . Your better off just leaving time travel out of it where zoom's involved . and he's just have his doppelgangers on other earths. that would have been easier to fallow for some people. if it's just the name Remanent .

I still think the man in the mask is Eddie, but with the mention of Barry's grandma's maiden name being Garrick, i doubt it now.

I mean there are two episodes left before the ending and Eddie/Eobard family have to appear somewhere to introduce the next season, it makes no sense to be the real Jay or Henry. By the way where do you say you got the info from?

Ugh. So if Eobard is under the mask. Where is the real Jay Garrick? And if he is Eobard as Jay Garrick. That's another former villain (actor) who is now a good guy...ie-Wells. Was so hoping it was John Wesley Shipp as Jay Garrick.

 

Yeah, not sure I believe that. Unless Henry's "my mother's maiden name [is Garrick]" is a massive red herring, it being [BLACKOUT]Eobard[/BLACKOUT] makes no sense.

Eobard time travelled back due to an obsession with Barry even going so far as to empower him earlier so he could return home so what if the Eobard Thawne of Earth 2 did the same but to defeat the notorious villain and helping train the true Jay Garrick of Earth 1?

Thus the Jay killed by Zoom is the real Jay Garrick and the man in the mask is Earth 2's version of the Reverse Flash?

 

I hope the man in the mask is Henry [aka Jay Garrick]. I think viewers are going to be a little disgruntled if they find out that he's actually a [blackout]Thawne.[/blackout] Surely the mention of Henry mentioning his mother's maiden name being Garrick must trigger some alarm bells there. I do hope that Earth-2 Jay Garrick will be played by none other than John Wesley Shipp and not Teddy Sears.

 

I still think it's John Wesley Shipp in the iron mask. And he's actually Barry Allen from the 90's Flash show. He was trapped there, and took on the alias Jay Garrick (mother's maiden name), since Earth-2 already has a Barry Allen. It's a flawed theory so hopefully Kreisberg can explain it better. But it's makes Jay Garrick not a "baddie", further explores the Multiverse, and gives off the nostalgia factor.

 

I actually really love that idea. Heck, practically any idea that includes a) JWS as the man in the mask and b) JWS playing 1990 Flash again is cool by me.

 

It's gotta be Henry Allen. I'm betting he was the original Jay Garrick. The first season in essence was Barry saving his Mom, this would basically make the second season about Barry saving his Dad. There's a symmetry to it.

 

I believe it will be the real Jay Garrick from earth 2

 

It would be cool if they tied in the 90s Flash show with this (with that having happened on another Earth) and that version of Barry shows up on Earth 1. They may have been alluding to that potentially happening with Henry getting friendly with Tina McGee.
