So who read and liked Frank Miller's YO script?

Well I read review from BOF, but I didn't like certain things such as

Alfred been holgram and was repaced by "Big Al" and Bruce not living in Wayne Manor etc..

I liked it, it was a take on Batman that I would like to see at some point. Sure it altered stuff, but you can interpret Batman in so many ways. It was very gritty, very cool.

Yeah I loved it as well. I can see why it never made it past the stage it did (excessive launguage/sex/violence) but it was a great script and interpritation on batman. While reading it I pictuerd Fincher directing not Arronofsky, also there was so much for Gordon here unlike BB which I fealt really missed with him. C'mon...casting was perfect but he didnt do anything.
I would love to see Miller do this as a comic instead of Batman vs Al queda.

I thought it was great, in some aspects. The ways in which it was like the graphic novel. It kept a lot of great moments that Begins ditched.

The things I didn't like were the un-neccessary changes to the traditional Batman story... they simply added nothing.

I never wanted a 100% faithful adaptation of Year One, but Aronofsky and Miller's script was just too much of a deviation.

I liked it, but you'll get those die hard Batfans that if you start messing with Batman's story to much they'll start acting like Islamofascists.

The day they produce something along the lines of that script is the day you will see a terrorist attack unprecidented by any in history and it will have orchestrated by the most lonesome and disgusting 40 year old momma boys.

:woot: :woot:

But yeah, it was cool sounding.

They already messed with Batmans story (BB) and fans ate it up with a spoon.

Batman Begins was a little change.. Making Bruce a lost homeless kid who got accepted by a grungy old man who own a two bit car garage and built a batsuit outta spare parts and shizzle..

YEah, totally comparable to the changes they made in BB..
Oh and that also totally goes with Year One as well.. I remember reading about Bruce losing his memory of being a Wayne.. :o

wasn't a fan, just too out there for me, too far from the character

Apparently this particular script was reworked by Aranofsky, and Miller wasn't happy about the changes that were made.At the NYC comic con Q+A he did last year with Neal Adams, he said that his original YO script was much more faithful to his own book.

I meant if they were gonna change stuff at least the YO script was ALOT cooler than BB turned out to be.

What all did Miller have to say about? Did he mention what got changed?

It was a question that I asked, but didn't get an abundance of detail on as he moved on to the next question. But what he said was that he had written a YO script that was very similar to his book, and that Darren took a shot at revising his script afterwards. They went back and forth, and the result was that neither of them could "agree" on the final product.

Was this script based on a certain story?
yeah, it was called
Batman: Stories pulled out of writers ass for big flashy movie.
it came out about the sametime as All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder.

Yo why da hell you gettin' smart wif me son'?!

but LMAO, funny title.

Yeah, it also inspired the plot for Batman Forever and Batman and Robin..
What is the obsession with giving Batman's villians these huge dramatic endings? I mean, Freezing a city? Brainwashing a world? if its not one thing its another.. I want to see a movie were the joker kills people, batman beats the hell out of him, joker goes to prison and Batman goes home and slips on his bat cave-shoes snuggles up with Catwoman next to the Bat-Fireplace, plays some Isaac Hayes on his Bat-iPod and gets a tube of the Bat-lube..

Im with Two-Face, i dident like the changes from the original Batman lore. i've not read the full script but from what i've read it aint Batman (certainly not Bob Kane's Batman)

I can understand why warners rejected it.

I haven't finished it YO yet. I started it and liked it,though it still needed work.

I finally finished the Sam Hamm Watchmen script.(It wasn't too bad until the ending :down)
Are the other versions of Watchmen online somewhere?

They're floating about. I have the files on a hard drive, but it's currently not accessible to me. If it was, I'd sent them both your way.

'PURE UNHOLY RAGE'
