Who Liked Frank Millers "yo" Script?

I skimmed the second half, it wasnt as bad as I remembered it being. I think last time I was too preoccupied with all the changes from the lore that I didnt give it a chance. I agree with BOF in that it wasnt such a great Batman story, but that it was a good screenplay. Forgetting it being untrue to Batman, heres some of the stuff I have to comment on -

- Bruce having no money, then "reclaiming" it at the end gave the narrative a nice tie-off. It made the movie a little more noir, having the cynical Detective without much money, working out a small packed office. It made him seem more average, and made what he was doing appear even more fantastic. A defense of some of my friends riding comics have always been "Whats his superpower? Oh right, apart from being super-rich."

- Little Al was too irritating, but classic Alfred wouldn't work here, so I would've just prefered the script without him. The Begins Alfred might've been a middle ground, he could've worked maybe.

- I prefered the scenes between Batman and Catwoman here over the GN. I liked the microfilm idea. Dent was more promonent in the screenplay, as opposed to his cameo status in the GE. I think everyone prefers that.

- Some of the dialogue seemed a little "oh, I need to explain this to the audience now" alot of Batman's lines. I'd prefer they respect the intelligence of an average cinema viewer and assume the viewer would just be able to work out what was going on, not needed it spoon fed to them. Some of the dialogue felt dated too.

- I found the Catwoman ending weak, and the "he's seen my face so I'll blind him" plot point weak. I think a better ending would've been the introduction of the Bat-signal, or the Gordon "Joker calling card" ending, or just Batman standing over the rooftops looking out. It's not clisqued, it's vintage.

- I honestly think one of the reasons this got rejected (besides the obvious stuff of course) is the lack of a villian. Sure, there's corrupt government officals, but when you're doing a comic-book movie, with Batman for gods sakes, the character with probably the best assortment of rouge gallery, it's assumed, nay expected that a charismatic villian be included to battle in the final act. There was Catwoman I suppose, but I don't think anyone would include her as a villian here.

What was with the "THE BAT-MAN" character name, you don't honestly think they would've titled it that do you?

YO was pretty terrible. Dialogue, story, change to the the mythos which doesn't better it in ANY way, character.....i am so glad this piece of s**t got rejected.
