Grew up with these two:

But I watched "Wok with Yan" more, because he was a funny dude.

Nowadays, I watch only when I happen to catch it, and it's usually the eye candy gals in Rachael Ray and Giada De Laurentiis.

Funny thing is, I hate cooking. I used to watch cooking shows as a kid, most of the time when there was nothing else on, and beg my mom to cook what they were cooking on TV.

Giada de Laurentiis is damn fine, and smart

Paula Deen cracks me up.
Bobby Flay is entertaining when he's drinking and cooking, he can't put his drink down. Irish much?
Alton Brown gets in there deep, good stuff.
Iron Chef is a lot of fun, exploring what I would never imagine is possible.
There was some hippie but I can't be bothered to search.

I never saw the appeal in Emeril.

I loved the original Iron Chef because of both the amazingly different dishes the chefs could whip up, and how deliciously blunt the judges were. The American one is good only because of the former.

No love for Martin Yan and his overuse of sesame seed oil?
