Goblin is probably in TASM2.

If they do it in the sequel, I can only hope they don't cheat us on the death of gwen. It has massive potential to be one of the most powerful moments in recent cinematic hitory.

in general, I would hope we get to see scorpion, and Kraven would be cool to see too

Who says this is a trilogy,we could get four movies,or more.

Globin again? To be honest I just hope this movie fails (dont get me wrong I will go see it and I doubt it fails at the box office) so the rights go back to Marvel/Disney.

If, no let me rephrase, WHEN they do the sequel I would like to see other villains for the SM rogue gallery. He has many! And Venom is suppose to get his own movie too so please no Venom. Mysterio is a good option.

The fantastic four movies failed and the rights didn't go back to Marvel, so honestly no point in hoping that happens. Marvel just got really lucky with the rights for the Hulk being reverted back to them.

And we will probably get a Goblin again. There is so much unexplored territory with that one character, and the version we saw in the 2002 film was very different from the comic books. Don't count on getting a Venom movie either, it probably won't happen. Besides, in order for that to really work, he has to appear in the SM films first anyway.

Personally, I'd prefer this to last a little beyond just a trilogy, but I would like the first three films to form a lose story arc for Andrew Garfield's Spidey, assuming he stops at three and then we just recast him.

Of that little arc, I feel that Venom would be the best bet as the primary villain. If they go with the spin-off, they can build up to the final film a little more, but the third film needs to be a Venom movie.

I also feel it might be best--no matter how much I don't want this to be the case--to fall onto the Ultimate Universe's Venom. Connect the Venom suit to Oscorp. In fact, connect the Venom suit to the radioactive spider-bite. That way, the Venom story will be the solution to everything. Make it so that Norman Osborn was trying to develop the Venom suit, or that Pete's parents were involved in creating it. Something like that. I'm not the writer, nor have I seen the original film yet, so I can't make any concrete suggestions, just vague ones.

The point is that Marc Webb wants to build up all this intrigue about the "Untold Story." I feel the symbiote should be integral in the whole story, honestly. Then again, that's just what I think. I also think that Norman Osborn should survive until at least the third film to kinda orchestrate the whole story to better hurt Peter, but that's also just me. My second option would be a Sinister Six movie, but I think that, if they continue the film franchise, they could use that down the line.

Also, don't kill all the villains this time...I'd rather them be alive for second appearances and grudge matches down the line.

If Fantastic Four fails again, I am sure it will go back to Marvel/Disney for sure. I believe Punisher and Blade have gone to Marvel/Disney and Punisher was suppose to appear in Captain America 2 (as I heard in a podcast) but they can'd that idea. Again, that is based on a podcast that I heard. Atleast we will see Punisher in the Marvel Movieverse sooner or later. The others to follow soon might be Elecktra, DareDevil (soon to have a reboot that I honestly don't see an interstest from the GA) and Ghost Rider as they have done terrible numbers at the box office. I dont see the X-Men and Spider Man ever returning to Marvel/Disney no matter how much we would like for that to really happen.

You are right about Goblin. Hope its done right this time if not just bring in another villian which SM has many.

Green Goblin, with him making a bid at seizing control of the New York underworld. Within the underworld you could have big bosses like Tombstone, Hammerhead or any others with Herman Schultz and similar rogues working underneath them.

Goblin would try to subvert them to his side by supplying them with their costumes (such as the gauntlets for Shocker). The gear they use--like the gauntlets--would be engineered to resemble technology from OsCorp's competition.

In that way, the Green Goblin would be running clandestine strikes on OsCorp's competitors and within the underworld. That'd bring him into conflict with Spider-Man!

I had hoped we'd have a more elemental threat in part 2, like Electro.

If Venom is in the movie, then the symbiote suit should have a military application rather than medical application. That way they could exploit the aggressiveness that the symbiote tended to bring out of its wearer in the 616 universe. They also better get to developing Eddie in Part 2. If the rumors of Stacies are true, then Eddie could
take Captain Stacey's place in terms of being a secondary character.

The leasing of their rights isn't contingent to whether their movies succeed or fail, its based off of how long ago it's been since they've had a movie in production. So, hell, if Fox doesn't get off their ass in the next couple of years, they could very well go back to Marvel before another movie is even made by Fox.

I think they should go for four movies and make the third and fourth a two parter. The symbiote saga could be awesome on screen if done right and it should spread over two movies. First one is Spidey gets the suit and goes on the dark side with it, by the end an angry Eddie Brock gets the suit and ends there. Then 4th picks up from the third and we have a whole movie of Venom tormenting Spidey.

Although most of you are saying GG will most likely be in ASM2, personally I'd rather them save him and use another villain for the sequel. Somebody we haven't seen yet e.g. Shocker, Electro, Mysterio etc etc

I think that Spider-Man 3 and 4 were originally going to be back-to-back, but then it was compressed into one movie because they weren't sure if anyone wanted a fourth film.

Hopefully they plan this franchise a little better, and perhaps they can do that. The only way a venom story would work is if it happened over two movies.

I agree I think thats the best way to go with introducing Venom

They should introduce the symbiote in one movie, and the black costume should not be removed by the end. It should show how much more power Spider-Man gets from it, and focus on the pros. Then by the next movie, we get to see the darker side of him, and he loses the costume, creating Venom.

That wasn't the reason they didn't make a fourth film. They couldn't find a great part in the script to leave as a cliffhanger.

I'dd rather Green Goblin be the end of trilogy villain

I am talking way back when Spider-Man 3 was still in pre-production.

Yah...so am I.

Seeing as how a script should be made before pre-production anyways....

I think that not being able to find a good cliffhanger is really a sorry excuse. If Twilight and Harry Potter could do it, then so could Spider-Man. End the movie after he gets the symbiote costume or something.

The movie was a mess from the beginning. They were still working on the script when they started filming.

Might be an excuse, but there's more proof to show that they couldn't find a perfect spot for a cliffhanger than anyone not being interested in a fourth film, especially since a Spider-Man 4 was going to be made.

If they add villains like Scorpion, I hope they don't do what they did in TASM game. I want a guy wearing a suit!

I like the idea of having the series go beyond a trilogy (well, only if TASM is done right). I really just wanna see the whole Spidey story be told, from the death of Gwen to getting with Mary Jane, to the death of Kraven and a better Green Goblin than the one we've already seen. I think it may be a bit of a stretch, but who knows how far they'll go with the series. They have to end with an iconic villain, though.

I can't see them going all across Spidey's lifetime such as that, but if we could get more than a trilogy, I'd love to see Peter progress from out of school, period. And that includes college since we never saw Raimi's Peter get out of college.

There are just too many stories to put in the movies, and not all of them are movie worthy anyway. In order to do something like that, you would need a TV series of Spider-Man, and I don't think people really want that (unless its an animated series that is like the 90s show or SSM).

I definitely want to see Peter graduate college, but I think that would only happen if there is a TASM4. It would be weird for him to graduate hs in TASM2, and then college in TASM3.

Webb said that it's a trilogy.

While I would like to think we're going to get more than that, it's not going to happen. I think Webb and co will want to take a bit of a break after TASM 2, so I think TASM 3 (the final movie) will come out around 2017, maybe even 2018. Garfield will be 34, 35 by then. I assume by then everyone will want to move onto other things...

Who knows, maybe Webb will change his mind and we'll get a fourth movie... I hope he doesn't feel as though he has to cram everything into the third movie.

He said so, but I'm pretty sure that Sony will want to make as many films as they can if it'll make money. In the years since Spider-Man 3 ended, Sony's lost a lot of money. They'll keep the cash cow going if they can, I think, for as long as possible. I figure they'll make one movie every couple of years, until it's drained of vitality.

Expect the Webb storyline to be a trilogy, but they'll keep going after that.
