Who should have been the villains for #3?

Who would you guys have picked for the villains?

Me? I honestly would have picked the Lizard, Dock Ock, Green Goblin, and Sandman, with a surprise that Norman is still alive in the climax of the movie.
I wouldn't have really have the story revovle around Sandman much. only 2 fights with him, and that's all you really see of him in the movie. One without the symbiote, then later on when pete finds out from conners what the symbiote is doing to him, and he knows he has to get rid of it, he says he can't yet, because he needs it in order to defeat Sandman, but then he almost kills him, when he grows this huge mouth and kills Sandman, and for him that's the last straw and he knows he has to absolutely get rid of the symbiote.

The bad guy story aspects would mostly revolve around Conners and Harry.
I got this idea for how I would have done it. I think i"ll post it in a day or two.

Sandman was a nice pick... better than the other lamos out there... I like the symbiate idea as well... I'll go Sandman, Ock, GG2, Venom setup... with SM4 filmed right after SM3 filming wraps up

That's a hard question to ask. I mean, as I ranted in one of those other threads, it's all about the story. So whatever the story/theme is, or whereever the writers want to take Peter, the villains will follow.

Doc Ock was the smart choice for SM2, but they meshed in Connors' character, which made sense for the story they were trying to tell about Peter and his responsibility.

So, honestly, if I was sitting here after watching SM2 back in 2004, and you asked me this question, I 'd have to first say Harry as the GG2. But of course, he couldn't have been the only one.

The Lizard is pointless at this point, seeing as how the Connors' role went to Octavius. Electro's powers are too generic in the sci-fi film world. Chameleon is just lame. And Mysterio just ain't gonna cut it.

So, really.....I don't have an answer, because I don't really know.

EDIT: Oh, and obviously you can't tell Venom's story without the symbiote, so really, I wouldn't have had Venom as a "villain" in this film.

The symbiote allow you to explore Peter in an entire new way, and you get a kickass villain too.

Personally, I was hoping for Lizard, Man-Wolf, and Kraven the hunter in a "Most Dangerous Game" kind of scenario where Kraven is hunting both villians and Spidey. Possibly add in the symbiote just to make it interesting and leave a cliffhanger at the end for Venom in part 4 ALL BY HIMSELF.

However, it looks like we have to settle for VINO and the Sandman with two others soaking up the time to keep the story from getting any depth. (Sigh) I was truly hoping to see venom given the time he needed instead of being rushed in too soon.

cmill is right, it is hard to figure out an answer for that question. but i would have to say GG1 and GG2 to cap off a great storyline from the first two. Maybe the lizard and sandman. No venom yet.

I think they made th ebest possible choices though... Sandman is going to be nasty and unlike anything we have seen before... Venom and GG2 are no brainers... just who will be the fourth??? Looking at it right now... I'd go in the same direction...

So you would have had 5 villains with 2 returning villains?


I think i would go with the ones that are in it now, Sandman, Venom and GG2.

Sandman's an incredible villain and one of spidey's all time best classic villains IMO, bringin in Brock and Venom should be unique and exciting, and Harry's a no-brainer.


I think Raimi has made some really good desicions with this one and i like the direction he's taking it.. I've absolutely loved the fact that each of these 3 movies has had a strong, deep, underlying meaning and lesson to it

I think this is your plot for SM4 if Venom dies... I would love to see this without the symbiate though... I think you could bring back Ock in SM5 and bring back some old villains to do a sinister six or just use the lame villains like Mysterio/Scorpion/Electrode... With SM6 the symbiate returning... but honestly I love the way they are setting it up now with the exception of killing Venom in like ten minutes...

I hate blasting people, but you are really lame for calling Topher Grace VINO when you haven't even seen the movie yet... come on dude, it's a MOVIE... and when you say VINO its like your taking PERSONAL offense to the casting.

You serious? First off, this is probably going to be the deepest movie out of the 3... Peter truly explores his power (symbiote or not), what he can do with it, maintain his relationships with the people he cares about, battle personal demons, explore who he truly is and his path to becoming a man, and ultimately make the right decision.

As for venom, it seems like were gona get a very deep, intriguing, and emotional story with him, with at least one excellent fight scene with him... and your complaining because the movie doesn't revolve around him???

And you would throw Harry out of the picture in this one??? Plus you think he's soaking up the time to keep this movie from getting any depth? The relationship between Harry and Peter might be the most epic emotional struggle and story there is..

GG2, Lizard, and the Symbiote... would of been a KICK-ASS movie.

I would of loved to see Spidey in black suit (symbiote) taking on his friend/brother (GG2) and his mentor (Lizard)... while wearing the symbiote, and its effect on him.

Of course, they would of had to establish Connors and his clan moreso in SM2 to make it meaningful... but they could have, and should have... done that.

I wouldn't have GG2 in this one yet.Harry would lose his mind more and ultimately be set-up for SM4.Then have Brock get the suit in the end,set him up for SM4 as well.Sandman would've been my only villain in this one.I want to see GG2 and Venom headline SM4.Pete will fight them both,with a couple of fight scenes.In his 2nd with GG2 Peter gets extremely frustrated beats him pretty bad,then finds out it's Harry.Right then Venom crashes into the building,grabs an unaware Peter and a climactic fight is set-up on the Empire State Building.Venom ends up being too much to handle and just as he is about to strike Peter with a fatal blow a bruised Harry takes out Venom and they land in the water after some mid air fighting between the two on the glider.Peter finds Harry as he's dieing and we see Venom escape and hide away for a later sequel.
