Who should have been the villains for #3?

I wouldn't have GG2 in this one yet.Harry would lose his mind more and ultimately be set-up for SM4.Then have Brock get the suit in the end,set him up for SM4 as well.Sandman would've been my only villain in this one.I want to see GG2 and Venom headline SM4.Pete will fight them both, with a couple of fight scenes. In his 2nd with GG2 Peter gets extremely frustrated beats him pretty bad, then finds out it's Harry.Right then Venom crashes into the building, grabs an unaware Peter and a climactic fight is set-up on the Empire State Building.Venom ends up being too much to handle and just as he is about to strike Peter with a fatal blow a bruised Harry takes out Venom and they land in the water after some mid air fighting between the two on the glider.Peter finds Harry as he's dieing and we see Venom escape and hide away for a later sequel.

nah man they gotta wrap up the Goblin stuff in this one cause u cant keep carrying it from movie to movie like a comic book

Agreed... finish it with this one

Im sure whatever Raimi has set out for us in terms of villains he knows what he,s doing

That's a hard question to ask. I mean, as I ranted in one of those other threads, it's all about the story. So whatever the story/theme is, or whereever the writers want to take Peter, the villains will follow.

Doc Ock was the smart choice for SM2, but they meshed in Connors' character, which made sense for the story they were trying to tell about Peter and his responsibility.

So, honestly, if I was sitting here after watching SM2 back in 2004, and you asked me this question, I 'd have to first say Harry as the GG2. But of course, he couldn't have been the only one.

The Lizard is pointless at this point, seeing as how the Connors' role went to Octavius. Electro's powers are too generic in the sci-fi film world. Chameleon is just lame. And Mysterio just ain't gonna cut it.

So, really.....I don't have an answer, because I don't really know. :p

EDIT: Oh, and obviously you can't tell Venom's story without the symbiote, so really, I wouldn't have had Venom as a "villain" in this film.

Peter didn't have the same relationship with Ock that he has with Connors. And spider-man wasn't desperately trying to cure Ock and save him. Spidey would be trying to save Conners from his lizard alter ego so to speak.

Not to mention symbiote spidey might need Conners help, but he's unable to get it, because Conners is currently a mindless beast, so it's a race against the clock to cure Conners before pete himself becomes completely taken over by the symbiote.

So you would have had 5 villains with 2 returning villains?

I think i would go with the ones that are in it now, Sandman, Venom and GG2.

Sandman's an incredible villain and one of spidey's all time best classic villains IMO, bringin in Brock and Venom should be unique and exciting, and Harry's a no-brainer.

I think Raimi has made some really good desicions with this one and i like the direction he's taking it.. I've absolutely loved the fact that each of these 3 movies has had a strong, deep, underlying meaning and lesson to it

I'm not dissing Raimi. I by no means claim that I could direct a better movie than him. I have no directing skills or experience at all.

Sandman will have cool effects and visuals, however he was not one of the best classic villains of all time. He wasn't even close.

THE WAY I WOUD'VE DONE THE SPIDERMAN TRILOGY:

Spider-Man: Origin story, villain Green Goblin/Willem Dafoe

Spider-Man 2: "No More" story, villain Doc Ock/Alfred Molina

Spider-Man 3: Symbiote story, villain Venom/Thomas Haden Church

You see, in my opinion, THC would make a WAY better Eddie Brock than TG, but the movie is what it is, so I accept Topher as Brock.

I was really against Sandman at first (Always thought he was a stupid villain to this day even that make no sense). So I personally thought he'd be too cheesy for a somewhat realistic movie. But the more I think about it the more I think Raimi will give him justice along with THC. So they should have kept him and do the Lizard. Or just Venom/symbiote movie. OR do Scorpion with Lizard....That would have been cool.

EDIT: Come to mind, since they started the Goblin arc that has to end, so probably GG2 with Scorpion, LoL, that would have been cool :D

Yeah, there are 4 villans...already confirmed are Sandman, Venom, GG2 and the forth, there is a huge leak about it being Lizard...seeing how he was in SM2 and mention in SM1 so there you go...i dont think it really matters who anyone wants to see, i would actualy love to see Rhino appear in one...and posibly someone like Puma or Jackle...o and Vulture but the first four look like thats going to be the OFFICIAL list.

I think the villain is either a cameo scene with mysterio much like in the spider-man 2 video game.

or it's black cat as Sandman's wife, I hope not! really hope not!

or it's the lizard! PLEASE BE THE LIZARD!

Man-Wolf, She-Man, and Danny Devito

lol
im just playing

i would choose Venom, GG2, Sandman

I would've had Harry as GG2 being tormented by visions of his father throughout, and a returning, truly evil Doc Ock. 3 villains in essence.

the reason I called him Vino was because I still feel one movie is not enough to properly develop a character like Venom. I have no problem with Grace playing him, even if he doesnt fit the classic look of Eddie Brock.

IMHO Eddie is the Anakin Skywalker of this series. He's the character that slowly gives in to his anger and eventually becomes something powerful and evil. Would the Star Wars prequels have been as good if they had rushed the transformation from Anakin to Vader in one movie. We would have ended episode one with a nine year old Darth Vader.

Sandman can handle sharing the spotlight. He's one dimesional as a character. Even the lizard or man wolf could handle sharing the glory. But Venom is many levels deep. His hatred of Peter/Spidey needs proper time to be explored. The symbiote itself needs to be explored. There is a lot of ground to be covered and even if the movie were three hours long it couldn't fully cover all the bases (IMHO) and present Venom at his best.

Unlike most spiderman villians Venom took months to create. Doc Ock took only a few panels to desribe his origin. Sandman took less than that. Other one dimensional characters like Electro, Lizard, Shocker, Rhino, Man-Wolf, and Vulture were introduced with only a few pages of origin. Venom, Green Goblin, and Hobgoblin, had more complex origins.

I just don't want to see Venom on the screen so they can do some cool CGI and see his background rushed through leaving out the build up.

I wouldn't have accepted an 8 year old Darth Vader over the mature villian that we got in the FIRST Star Wars, and I can't accept a Venom that hasn't had to walk through the fires of personal hell and develop an all encompassing hatred of Peter/Spiderman. In a two hour movie, he might be able to get irked a bit, but all encompassing hatred? I don't think so.

I hope Sam proves me wrong, but I can't see how he can be done well while sharing the screen with three other villians.

thats why I said VINO.

But wouldn't that be Harry Osborn in this series?

I Think Sandman, Gg2, Venom, And Suprise Appearance By Doc Ock Would Be Cool.
