Who should play Ghost Rider in the MCU?

How has no one said Norman Reedus yet?

I mentioned him as my choice IF they don't go origin (I went younger under the assumption we're talking origin). Norman Reedus could be a great Johnny Blaze, but if they planned the film as a Phase 4 thing he would be in his 50s.

Not film- Netflix.

Daredevil, Punisher, Blade, and Ghost Rider...
They're half way there for making a "Marvel Knights" thing.

Netflix isn't pushing out a Ghost Rider show soon enough for Reedus to not be pushing fifty either. Their slate is pretty full. Hell, they could start filming tomorrow and you're still dealing with a 47 year old Reedus.

To be fair, he doesn't look it...I actually thought he was mid-late 30's. I actually thought Chadwick Boseman was late 20's or early 30's.

I doubt Netflix will be pushing Ghost Rider, either. They just don't have the budget, not unless you either sub-CW special effects, or the Rider only appearing for a minute or two average per ep ( give or take budget saving "cheats" ).

I want a more traditional Johnny Blaze this time round. Not a dark-haired, wig-wearing aged biker like Cage. I might've suggested Paul Walker if he were still alive. I'd like someone in that kind of vein.

Yes I would have went with Paul Walker...it's a shame that Paul Walker died because had he lived he would have been my pick for Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider but Jensen Ackles...Jensen he is the best available pick for Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider he practically plays a similar character on Supernatural

Ghost Rider

Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider- Jensen Ackles
Mephistopheles- Gary Oldman
Roxanne Simpson- Kate Bosworth
Barton Blaze (flashbacks)- Kurt Russell
Blackheart- Joel Edgerton

Kurt Russell is already in Guardians of the Galaxy, probably as Peter Quill's father.

Then as Barton Blaze I would go with Kevin Costner in flashbacks

Get someone cheap. The Ghost Rider doesn't exactly lend to using the actor's face for action sequences.

If they did a movie I was thinking Ryan Gosling. If they go Netflix I think Norman Reedus is an interesting choice.

If it has to be Johnny Blaze, I say Charlie Hunnam. I'd rather see Dan Ketch though. Not sure who I'd cast though.

I'd like to see them go the Midnight Sons route, with a post-GR Blaze and a Ketch as the current GR. I always thought Johnny was more badass AFTER he was GR.

Charlie Hunnam as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider now that would get my vote but would he be able to pull off the Texan accent but looks wise he could be Johnny Blaze and he knows his way around a motorcycle because of SOA

Evel Knievel as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider now that would bet my vote and he knows his way around a motorcycle and is a skull now so just put him on fire and he can be Johnny Blaze for sure I would ship that

I don't know who I'd like to play Ghost Rider but I know who I'd like to direct. Either Rob Zombie or the Soska Sisters. These are the only two (or one and a half) options that I feel there are who can get Ghost Rider right.

Sheri Moon Zombie would have to play Roxanne Simpson, though.

But I'd definitely watch Nic Cage in a Rob Zombie directed Ghost Rider film. I'd ship that.

Preferably not Cage again. It would need to be a hard reboot. Sheri Moon as Roxanne would be okay with me. I'd kill her off in the second film and then bring her back in the third as Black Rose.

Also, I'd completely scrap the origin for Blaze and make Dan Ketch the new Rider while Blaze has retired with Roxanne. Marvel are skipping Mar-Vell and moving right on to Carol so I don't see why they'd bother with Blaze over Ketch.

James Wan, has done horror and a chase movie.

Except he's doing Aquaman. He's over at DC and would presumably be doing Aquaman sequels.

Jen and Sylvia Soska are highly influenced by old 70s supernatural horror and exploitation films (which coincidentally, is what inspired the creation of Ghost Rider back in the 70s). They're also huge comic book nerds. They've retweeted Marvel several times. They wrote their own graphic novel with Deadpool writer Daniel Way. They love doing publicity so they'd easily promote a film with a smaller R-rated budget. I'd love to do something amazing.

Rob Zombie has directed a number of horror films. His parents were carnival performers (kind of like Blaze's day job). He's a heavy metal musician (the type of music most associated with Ghost Rider) so he'd be able to pick out a really awesome soundtrack for the film which would probably sell really, really well. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of films, including some really obscure ones. He's also done a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy so he's already worked with Marvel.

Both of these options would be far cheaper than James Wan. If he's already working for a competitor and would require a crazy paycheck, then why hire him over equally qualified directors?
