Here is what Matthew Vaughn had to say about the addition of only one major new character in the proposed Untitled X-Men: First Class Sequel.

"We will only have one more new character. I won't say who he...I won't say who he or she is! But we will only be bringing one more new character in. Because, I think, as Professor X is in a wheelchair, Magneto needs to have a nemesis he can fight with. Someone that will be his equal. I know who it is. It would be nice if I could say something, but I can't, mate!"

I guess its for a villain role.

I'm hoping Mr. Sinister or Shadow King.

If there is any justice in the world, it'll be Cyclops...

I doubt it. But it doesn't mean they won't introduce a co-starring role character.

Mystique, Banshee, Beast and Havok are all co-starring role in XFC.

Cyclops can't be In sequel
Vaughn wants to open sequel with Magneto responsable for Kennedy Assassination. Then the film would eather jump to late 1960's as he
has mentioned or the early 1970's as Singer has mentioned doing

Cyclops would have to wait for third film
Singer has mentioned eventully In trilogy going to 1980's.This Is when he,Jean Grey,Storm and Angel, since The Last Stand Is being Ignored,
would come In

There Is contunity to consider
Vaughn has mentioned doing flashforward In sequel with Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellan. There may be a few libitiers taken but First Class Is prequel to X-Men and X2

My guesses on who Vaughn may be think of are
A rival villian like Sinster or Apocalypse.Or a new X-Man since Beast,Havok, and banshee are only ones with Xavier at end of First Class.Or
a preadmantaum Wolverine

it cant be cyclops but if cyclops were to show up in future sequels my top choice is British actor Sam Claflin(POTC:At Stranger Tides,Pillars Of The Earth)

my guess is sinister

Well to be fair it belongs in here.

It really belongs here because this section is about Sequels.

I'm betting Iceman or Angel

I'm betting on the side of them realizing that First Class is leagues better than the original X-Men movies and them just going with it as a reboot (since there is really only a little that ties them into prequel stats)

Can't really be Sinster or Apacolypse because Magneto is clearly a villain at this point, so to have someone to battle would suggest a new recruit to the X-Men.

I think if they are to add a "Friends of Humanity" human terrorist group or something like that, Or a Sentinel threat (maybe like one sentinel at the end of the movie, leading into a 3rd film with a 100 sentinel's like alien and aliens) that would make sense.

My money is definitely on new recruit to the X-men, especially if they set the movie in the 70s it would only stand to reason that they would have more X-Men by then anyways

Didn't the writers say it would be Cable, or that they wanted to use Cable?

You mean the writers who aren't part of the sequels and barely part of First Class? Yes.

This probably will never happen

but if they wanted to really add some depth in this new X-men universe and set the stage for an epic saga that could span multiple trilogies, they could use Cable as a means to "JJ Abrams" the X-Men universe and fix this "prequel/reboot" issue. This would also set up future battles with Apocalypse and could help alleviate any worrisome fans about timeline, age questions

Why...yes :csad:

See, now you made me feel stupid :o

No, lol...just take it as this: X1, X2 and X3 have their own set continuity and timeline and First Class is just its own thing, albeit with Jackman as Wolverine as well(it was mostly like fan service as was adult Mystique from Singer's films). Now, First Class, even though it seems to be its own thing and more reboot than prequel, I understand why Vaughn wanted to use different mutants for his X-Men instead of the normal First Class.

Juggernaut was already in X3.

So they better pick someone else.

So was Magneto, but we had him,but this time we can get a better version of Juggernaut.

Maybe not in the next one but in the later sequels, what about X-23? I think Jaimie Alexander can pull it off. I remember reading an interview where she'd like to play X-23 and she is one of her fave characters from X-men. I dunno how this character could fit in the X-films but... hells yeah, I can see her as X-23.

She's too innocent looking for X-23, plus she's already in Thor and works great in it. Briana Evigan is the way to go for X-23.

We got the younger version of Magneto and that Magneto was still connected to Magneto of the X1, X2 and X3 :whatever:

Polaris...

If you think about it logically, if they were going to introduce only one character, you would need to have a character that would add to both sides of the conflict...

See with Polaris, you have this girl who is essentially Eric Lenshires daughter, but fights on the side of good. She would be perfect for the sequel because you have two guys at war with each other, throw in magneto's daughter working on xaviers side and you have alot of emotional tormoil.

Polaris isnt my favourite character but i figure she would be the best use of a single character added that would fill the story of a whole movie.

Look at the elements, Eric rescues Emma at the end of first class stating that Xavier who was a telepath, left a gap in his team. so naturally Polaris would fill the gap in xaviers group that Magneto had left.

Plus you have the whole Havok and Polaris history in the comics, it would be a great chance for them to incorporate a little bit of comic book normality into the story.

I could get behind, Polaris
(they could, of course, definitely use another female member)

her connection to Magneto, is where it gets a bit complicated, as he's still quite young him self, here (an as some have mention to young to have a teenage+ daughter) of course, there relation, can be over looked/ignored (as some of the others have throw the films have) but, as, TheVelvetOnion, was saying her connection to him would be one of the main reasons to bring her in...

So, if what… though, it might sound a bit crazy, at first
[BLACKOUT]she isn’t his daughter pre-say, but, the result of one of Dr. Schmidt's experiments on him
(definitely not suggesting cloning, but, perhaps he injects a pregnant woman with his DNA, or something along those lines)[/BLACKOUT]
where there’s still a connection to him, a relatable quality, and maybe something he doesn’t find out right away, but, slow comes to realizes
