Who do you think would be more interesting,a red Venom?

Carnage? yeah totally.. He's 100x times more interesting than the generic cheesy villains of the month from the 60s.

Don't get me wrong I"d like to see the Lizard in a SM movie but not as the main villain.

Carnage, Kraven... can't think of anything much else right now

I always liked the idea of Larry David as the Vulture!

They already have the Lizard set up in Spider-Man 2...

A Venom / Carnage storyline would be NASTY! I ould see Cilian Murphy playing Cleetus Cassidy

unless someone else comes in and takes over this francise raimi aint doing the symbiotes again. Raimi doesnt give a damn about Carnage or Venom.

have doc ock come back and recruit 2 villains from the previous movies, harry as hobgoblin, sandman (i haven't seen sm4 yet), set up dr connors as lizard, and put either man-wolf or chameleon in the mix making it 6-sinister 6.

The Sinister Six will never happen. Reviews have already come in and have said that Spider-Man 3, with only 3 villians, is too crowded. So, sure - go ahead - add three more. Drive the franchise into the ground. Who cares about character development or plot? Let's just have one big action-orgy... it'll be great.

the lizard? really?
THIS is who you want to be in the 4th?

Oh a mad scientist drinks a formula and turns into a lizard.. wow yah ok

I myself agree with you. I never found whats so interesting about the lizard.
Whooooo, I'm a giant reptile creature that if you keep as a pet my life spand decreases signifigantly compared toif I was in the wild.
Come on Scorpion is 100x more deserving than that if your going to use one villain.
And if you want to use any of Spidermans epic villains, theres only a few left. Sinister six, Maximum Carnage, Kingpin, spiderslayers.
Though I'm still convinced clone saga with ScarletSpidey and Dopple ganger can work too or the manspider/mutation arc.

The Lizard was one of Spidey's first villians. He deserves time on the screen, probably even more so than Sandman did. And it's not necessarily the conflict between Spider-Man & the Lizard that drives the story, more so it would be the conflict between Peter Parker & Dr. Connors.

There's a lot of people out there who just want to see cool villians for the sake of seeing cool villians. They forget about the fact that these movies are about Peter Parker. Raimi knows that. Any director that may take over should know that in order to make a good movie. The will figure out whatever lesson Peter Parker has to learn next, and then choose a villian that we haven't seen before who best supports that theme.

No I just want to see his most epic villains.
Enemies like the lizard just aren't epic. What has he really done to show it? Yeah, he's one of Spidermans first villains, but my first date didn't end up being my first love. See what I'm saying? Hydroman or Scorpion should get a movie before him.

What makes a good villian is conflict. The Lizard has a personal connection to Peter Parker. There's more conflict there. That's what makes him a better villian than either Hydroman or Scorpion.

No hydroman... Lizard should be in the 4th... always time for scorpion for SM5... lets be patient people... can't have like 6 villains in SM4

I'd like to see The Lizard and Black Cat. Black Cat would bring a lot to the movie as far as a romantic conflict goes - plus she doubles as a female villian, which we haven't yet seen in a Spider-Man movie.

But the conflicts with the lizard always sucked. The whole, "I have a family and don't want to be a monster thing" is okay. But compared to other plots gets blown out of the water. King Pin targeting Pete with the Spider slayers or doing the mafia thing is much more interesting. Pete thinking he's a clone or growing 6 arms is even better.
For another thing, everything Lizard can do another spiderman villain can do it better. He's a giant lizard, Spiderman should stop holding back and just kick his ass. He can take it. I will never understand the appeal of the Lizard.

And what do you do with Gwen? Write her out? Maybe... but you can't have Gwen Felicia and MJ all in the same movie... and you can't write out MJ by saying she went traveling b/c of her career... thats too drastic... she needs to have a role, even if its small... again... Black Cat is a good fit for SM5 or beyond... maybe a cameo in four

Well then its just a thing with your own taste then... bottom line is... we have been dying to see Baker's character arc completed since SM2... he was about to be in SM2... got snubbed... got snubbed again... yeah its not that interesting... but its what fans have been waiting for. If 4-6 are even remotely related to the first 3... he needs to be in. Yes the mad scientist thing has run its course... but its the next logical thing... it really is.

Definitely bring Gwen back...have Peter propose to MJ at the end of 3 and get turned down (just like in the comics)....because honestly, you can't have Peter settle down until the final movie.

My opinion may change after I see Spider-Man 3, but for now I would be happy letting Gwen go and sticking with MJ. I see it as MJ & Peter are into each other, and Black Cat is attracted to Spider-Man. There's plenty of room for all sorts of trouble there.

And as far as The Lizard goes - HE'S ALREADY THERE! USE HIM! Don't just build up anticipation for a villain that you never plan to use. And the appeal isn't the fact that Spider-Man would be fighting a giant Lizard, it'd be more the fact that Peter Parker has to figure out how to stop his friend/professor/father-figure (however you want to look at it) without killing him.

The Clone Saga is by far one of the dumbest story-lines in any comic book series. It never should've happened. We don't need to see that on the big screen.

Furthermore, Man-Spider would be a bad idea. What lesson would Peter Parker learn from that? That he doesn't want to be a giant spider? Yeah, I'm pretty sure he already knows that.

My prediction for these villians is based on rumors from the past sequel and what Sam Raimi has said in interviews. Black Cat was in an early draft of Spider-Man 2, so it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to work her back into story. And there's already a lot of speculation & hype about The Lizard, simply because of Dr. Connors' presence in 2 & 3. It makes sense.

Please speak for yourself. Alot of Spiderman fans actually like clone saga.

1-Why does Peter Parker always have to learn a lesson? He doesn't learn one in ever single issue of Spiderman.
2-What would fighting the Lizard teach him? Fighting giant sized lizards is really dangerous. I must try to avoid doing that with the millionsof other lizards around.

You know what Sloth? Let's just leave it at rest. Clearly, we'll never agree on this.

Lizard, Kraven, and Chameleon

I'd be okay with Venom if there was another villian too.

Okay... dumping logic aside for a moment... you know who I think would be cool to see? Electro. Special Effects-wise, they could do some amazing things...

Yes, but it'd be ironic if Spider-man had to protect the very person that tries to ruin him (Jameson). So maybe no Scorpion for the main villian, but put him with Lizard and Kraven and it might work out.

Right, Jameson does front the money to create Scorpion, but my gut feeling tells me they won't go that way in the movie. The audience loves J.K. Simmons portrayal as a stubborn, loud-mouthed, cheap-skate... I don't know if they'd respond well to him creating a super-villian.
