Why are cops such pricks?

Oh please! I go through the whole "nice" routine when getting pulled over (hazards on, hands on wheel, sunglasses/hats off, act polite, etc). This guy was completely out of line. The fact is the most cops are either reasonable and just, or complete power loving *******s. Unfortunately, the latter are more common than the former.

I've decided that I'm going to write to the state about the guy.

My best friend is a cop and he tells me a few stories of people who think they can do whatever they way. Some teenager puts his foot out to try and trip him up, a guy double parks in front of him. And then they resist?

I have had maybe just two bad one's that were not my fault, and a couple that I caused when I was younger...along with a couple of Keystone cops inccdents...I sat in a holding cell for an hour with a smile on my face, cause I knew soon as I got out I could use the drugs in my pocket

Gamma. The last time I got pulled over I didn't make a full stop at a stop sign, and before I could pull out my PBA cards, she saw that I lived a few houses down and just let me go with a warning.

More cops need to use fair judgment like that, if everyone had a positive exsperiance with a police officer there rep would not be as bad. at least for every "Frickin cops" story someone could counter with "they are not so bad last week..." would be healthy for all involved.

yes, I said it would be nice if they used fair Judgment, I by no means expect fair judment, I expect nothing but the worst of people, that way they can't let you down.

If you're considering being nice a "routine", then it's apparent that YOU are the one with a problem.

I got pulled over for the same thing, and the cop said, "Since you didn't argue with me, I'll let you go with a warning."

I have issues with Authority, and dissagree with many laws they are forced to uphold. so for the most part "F-Da Police", yet I don't enter the situation like that, I treat each person as a individual.

When I watch one of my favorite TV shows "Cops" I am usually yelling at the TV saying the cops are being excessive Dill weeds!

I guess I am a bit of a hypocrit, but I still say if more people had positive exspriance, thier rep would not be as bad...

Furthermore, I will say I comend cops that don't lose thier cool, and treat people fairly. they get lot's of respect cause it is a tough job to do right.

Cops are pricks because they were loser bullies in high school who's lives peaked at 17 and since they spend too much time being morons in their youth, the only worthwhile job they could find in which their skills of being a prick would be encouraged is the police force.

For the most part I agree, a lot of these cops are just fat kids that were picked on in high school, so they are taking the chance to pay back socity behind a badge, the other half are the rowdy drunk jock type, that has always gotten a kick out of ****ing with people! very few enter the profession with the intent to protect and serve.

Fact is majority of Cops are pricks and there is such a double standard out there its ridiculous. Cops will bust someone for an illegal turn in a heartbeat but let a fellow officer off a DUI cause hes a member of the force.

I don't hate cops but the every encounter I 've had(being pulled over) they've been huge pricks.
