because DC isn't doing **** all
Because it's been an expansive conversation that's touched on potential market saturation.BTW, why are we keep talking on Marvel movies...?
DC will release THREE movies in 2010...that is nothing to ignore.
None of the three DC films in 2010 are superhero films, so they're not relevant to the topic of saturating the market with superhero films. But DC didn't oversaturate themselves, did they?
It's fine to me, too, but they'd be a lot better off spacing them out through the year than releasing all three in the summer.Of course. But if DC want to release 3 superhero movies (let's pick B listers say Hawkman, Aquaman, Green Arrow) in one year, that's quite fine to me.
Just like you said, Hawkman is just another movie that depends upon good storyline & good directorship to sell itself to the public. By that it should have the same chance of success of "unknown to the public" title like Avatar, Inception or the 1st Iron Man. Comic stardom should have only a tiny influence on the movie success.
most of the fandom doesn't take Hawkman seriously and you expect the general audience too....thats the difference between your examples and Hawkman
see this is another problem I have...not every character is deserving of a film
Honestly, I'm not feeling to good about Cap's chances next summer. Thor comes out in May and has no competition...but it seems GL, Cap, and the X-men are way to close. I wish GL was released during the holidays as planned. Despite what people say I really don't think Cap is a summer tentpole movie. I can honestly see that movie doing TIH type numbers. It would probably do better if released at a different time of the year. Why am I bringing that up in this thread? Because if a Cap movie bombs, then it doesn't bode to well for the genre. As stated before, if GL bombs, it will hurt DC's chances for other heroes to have films but if both Cap and GL bomb................that's not a good thought.
DC is doing okay. One good movie per year.

oooh Hawkman carrying an HK....edgy
Ill run out and buy that right now![]()
maybe...but I can easily name 10 DC characters who are infinitely more interesting and who I would sooner see get a movie before Hawkman
