but knowing either way won't enhance the viewing experience at this point in time since there is no information on a sequel.I'm not looking for a definitive answer, but a discussion on the subject. As for the time I'm asking, it shouldn't matter. We were discussing stuff like this on here, years before the script, or even singer was attached to the project. So I don't think having an open discussion on why superman left, framed within the narrative of the universe we have defined before us, isn't that much of a stretch.
so i ask why bring it up.
i mean fair point they don't actually say why he left and it's good you picked that up.
he might have gone to take a dump or perhaps wanted to see if he could get cooler material/colours for his costume...
he could have been searching for other survivors or believed that maybe it may have all been a mistake. The only film it really affects is the second superman film which he states he wouldn't let the world down again to the president, so a good enough explanation for his long trip i guess could be asked for but meh...
wouldn't simply assuming something to put your mind at ease suffice?
