I mean:

This movie was designed to be a blockbuster and thus had a very big budget. Why on hell did the CGI claws of Wolverine (especially in the mirror sequence at Hudson's house) suck so much? They look Roger Rabbit-esque.

The CGI claws in X1, X2 and X3 were great and impressing. They looked real.

I think they should have used prosthetics in Origins, since their CGI designers were terrible.

The CGI claws in Origins was the least of my problems with the movie.

For a movie that had a budget of $150 million, it looked cheap.

Better question: why does Origins suck so much?

They looked too big and lacked Shen and definition.

Such an unnecessary thing to CGI when Practical is cheaper and more realistic

CGI isn't made by a magic wand. It's made by people. Some people are simply better at making Wolverine the best there is.

The look of the claws - that matte finish on the metal - didn't help, they looked even more artificial...
