I watched the Extended Version DVD today and I LOVED the opening credits. It was on par in my opinion with Spiderman and X-Men movies opening credits.
The only reason I can think of why it was cut is because it basically shows the whole movie. So it may seemed redundant, however if they wanted to use the opening credits from the Extended Edition for FF2:RotSS then that would be great because it kinda recaps the original movie kinda like the opening credits in Spiderman 3 recapped the first two movies.
Oh, I thought the Extended Edition movie was far better than the theatrical cut. The characters seemed more fleshed out, more funny moments and less awkwardness from having scenes cut out. The flow of the story was better. Watching the EE proved that Tim Story didn't do a bad job now maybe FOX will give him more control in the sequel but I still can't shake that maybe they are still controlling things because of the movie running time and the PG rating (not that I have any problems with that). The Incredibles and National Treasure were great PG rated action adventure movies.

Am I the only one here who hated National Treasure?

I love opening titles/credits.
Hopefully, FF2 will have one. Not some bootleg 10 second one like the first.

I've heard that the opening credits are...

Similar to STM1 and MIB2- following something from outer space down to Earth with credits playing over it.

Can I just say how pleased I am with the CGI sequence Tim Story selected for this sequel? Totally gave this film the mature, epic flavor it needed to kick off the momentum properly.

What are your thoughts guys?

I think the planet's destruction was great and really cool, but I would of liked to have seen the rest of the credits take place in space.

It would have come across too much like Superman though if they'd put ALL the credits flying across the screen against an outer space montage.

^ I agree it could of been seen as the SR opening.

Overall i thought the opening sequence was average, It felt short and i think it would of been nice if we see he enter other planets with life.

Like when he comes to Earth I didn't immediatley think it was Earth.

So it would of been nice if he enters a planet seemingly quickly and then it's destroyed, although that might have been confusing if it happens so quickly... I dunno i just wanted a little more out of the one we got. :p

Maybe, but as it is, the credits start great, but then become pedestrian. I would like to have the credits go in space, maybe appear in the Surfer's streak coming to Earth.
