I know there are horror movies out there, but I never found them that scary. It seems a lot adults have this right up there with heights and spiders.

Anyone out there freaked out by clowns?

I can understand being a bit freaked out by them but Ive never understood the people being truly frightened by clowns. But then again, it might just be one of these irrational fears like the fear of long words.

I saw this doctor talking on TV about it once... He said something to the effect that most often it's because children are exposed to clowns at the age when we (as humans) start to recognize and remember people by facial attributes... so to see someone in makeup and what not tends to frighten us, and that carries into adulthood.
