First Avenger Why Does Everyone Want a Body-Building Captain America?

I also find it funny Pluto that you all of the sudden know so much about his Bodybuilding, acting, social tendencies, and drug use (or lack thereof) when you feigned so much ignorance about him before.

BTW, Loren, I'm interested in why you know I'm a liberal (technically). I've never interacted with you outside of these Cap threads, and I've never discussed my political beliefs here.

Since we're mentioning the IFBB:

Rest in Peace, Ben Weider, brother of Joe Weider.

Yes I hated that. Ben Weider was so wonderful because he did so much here in the states but also around the World promoting the sport of bodybuilding and has helped bring gyms and exercise equipment to places where the poor people would have never had any weights to workout with.

And for those who want to know the truth about the guy who looks indentical to Captain America who I like. Don't take my word for it. Just read his comments on his youtube page or email him. He ticked me off for not writing me back sooner but you should realize he's getting tons of emails from people and Captain America fans. So just be patient if you email him. He's very nice I think. He wrote in reply to someone asking him about Cap on his youtube page that he would be honored to play Captain America and that he's won acting awards. I'm finding out this stuff right now just like everyone else so if someone sees something or hears anything FILL ME IN!

Bye!

I don't want a body builder for Cap...but I want someone who looks the part...Captain America has a very distinctive look and deviating from that will hurt

Relentless isn't she.

It's not gonna happen, Joel Silver is not producing the Captain America movie so I imagine they will pick a good actor with history in ACTING, since...you know...Marvel already stated that.

I'd be happier with an actor as opposed to some unknown or someone who has never even appeared in a film before

You can go both ways with the casting of Cap though. You can have an unknown or you can have an actor, the script needs to be great and the film has to be great too. That's where Superman Returns failed in my opinion. The cast was good, it's just the script was pretty damn bad and offered no character development for Superman, Lois, Luthor, and etc.

If they get those basics of Cap right, then it should be smooth sailing. I really don't know who I would pick for Cap though, he's a pretty hard character to cast honestly. In order to cast him he definitely needs to have the "look" if you will of someone who is in control, in perfect shape, and just looks the part.

I just hope we get an official picture that is something like this ^

Cap needs to be aryan. That irony is part of what makes him so great.

and if Spoons has his way...Cap should be able to deadlift a Volkswagen

You know I was thinking Ryan Reynolds would've been ideal if he wasn't in Blade: Trinity or in the upcoming Wolverine film.

Ryan Reynolds is a clown.

He has his uses, but no way should he be a serious character like Cap.

That's the thing we've never seen him in a serious role except for the Amityville remake and I don't really count that. In every role he's been in it's always the wisecracking smartass character, I do believe he has talent, but he needs to expand his roles and look for a serious film that can help him showcase what he can do.

maybe.

possibly.

doubt it.

I like him as a cracker.

I totally support that guy for Cap. Idk how well he acts though lol

Why don't you check out his video? Believe me, you don't have to tell us that you laughed when your done watching it, we will know.

If he was a good enough actor he would get his shot, IMO. I like him as Deadpool and I am not bashing him as an actor for what he has done but if you have the talent and you are a tall handsome good build then you will get roles. This is the same reason Paul Walker doesn't get any chances in big dramas roles bc people won't take him seriously. Renolds was okay in Smokin' Aces.

that's what happens when you do 'Fast and the Furious'
