I very much doubt that Prime would allow his remains to be dumped with the Decepticons.

I don't think it has anything to do with Jazz's ethnic-esque voice. As has been said he was the next one people had the emotional attachement to.

There was no way they could kill Bumblebee (that would have been like E.T) and killing Prime would have stupid...like the first movie.

I was sitting next to a real life black guy the first time I watched this movie and he did have a "why'd they kill the black one?!" outburst. He also said that it was awesome though. The movie, not killing african-cybertronian robot Jazz.
