He doesnt have a secret identity or anything so why does he wear a costume? Is it because fans like it?

Thanks.

Its not a costume. Its a uniform to show hes part of the team.

its comics...

its eye candy. The X-men costumes/uniforms aren't part of their mythos like it is with Batman and Superman.

He's a superhero, and superheroes wear uniforms-- even the ones without secret identities. It's what distinguishes them from other people.

oddly enough wolverines one of the few superheroes who l00k BETTER in street clothes

It's better that he wear a costume or uniform, he's a X-Man.

besides who's gonna tell HIM what to wear?

It's thinking like that that screwed up the costumes in the movies. Also you're not a comic fan if you don't get it.

He is a comic book super hero, nuff said!!!

It is a comic book!!!

WTF is with these stupid people that don't get it?! So stupid!

I agree. Just like Hulk always looks best in ripped shorts.

The costumes weren't screwed up.

That is, unless you actually wanted the X-Men movies to be Power Rangers remakes...

Actually, the first Power Rangers movie had some pretty good costumes.

You're one to talk about stupidity, boyo.

He's following the Geneva convention of wearing an identifiable uniform when going into combat.

It's the only rule he follows by the way.

as i recall in logan's first apearance against the hulk wolverine was supposed to be canadas natioal hero ala captain america ,thats why his original costume looked as it did

I always thought that he wore a costume for protection....sure he can heal from wounds but back in the day it would take him a while to heal....so why not cover up the especially soft parts. Sure he can recover from a shotgun to the groin...but why would he want to????

at the end of the day costumes give a level of flexibility and posible protection that normal clothes don't.

it's like asking why martial artists get dressed up to spar and so forth, or climbers disrobe to climb.

good practice.

i think a large proportion of the x-men look better in their normal clothes.
