Why hate FOX?

The X-Men universe is so massive on it's own it would probably be a disservice to it to have it be part of marvel studios where their attention has to be on so many other projects at the same time.

As I mentioned I think the X-Men work best when they are in their own universe.

I don't think it's a bad thing that the X-Men and the Fantastic Four rights are with another company. Marvel has a ton of movies coming up, I wouldn't want certain characters held back cause they weren't ready to release something. I doubt we'd be getting Ant Man if Marvel had the rights to Spider-Man, X-Men, FF, etc so I think it's good that other studios have these other characters.

Personally whilst I don't think the FF films or X3/XO:Wolverine were great I've seen far far worse from the genre. I'd say aswell the amount if quality X-Men films outweighs the bad and Fix seem to want o put it right with DOFP and the (hopefully) upcoming FF reboot.

I agree.

Tom Rothman just got a new job as head of Tri-Star, so I think we can close this thread and start a 'Why hate Sony?' one instead

Then I wouldn't be surprised if we get another spider-man 3
That has always been a fear fans have had with Sony's rebooted franchise. Many saw it as potentially more of the same--studio executives being once again too involved with the production--when they ultimately cancelled Spider-Man 4 due to creative differences with Sam Raimi, instead of allowing him creative control of the project.

But Matt Tolmach and Arad seem to have a better working and creative relationship with Marc Webb, and I don't think they'll allow Rothman to come in and ruin their plans. Still, I fear for whatever Rothman does get his hands on.

Funny, in total film's interview with Webb and the crew they were asked how they would avoid TASM2 becoming like SM3 with all the stuff in it. They said how they consulted with screenwriters, comicbook writers and such who have been able to do it. I hope we don't get a failure spidey film like SM3, it would break my heart...

Rumor yes. But a rumor that, if true, would be a horrible start to this reboot. I couldn't take the movie seriously if that happens.

I hated what Shane Black did to The Mandarin but that's one unforgivable character by Marvel Studios as oppose to a dozen by Fox. Even that recent reveal of Singers Sentinel for DOFP doesn't look that easy on the eyes...so things don't look to be changing as Mark Miller promised.

I also have a problem with this threads title, it makes it seem like FOX is being poorly mistreated. But in reality you either like Fox's take on comic book characters on film or you don't. People have been voicing their opinions against more than half of Fox's comic book films well before the MCU got off the ground. So it's not a "bandwagon jump" as much as I feel it's a solution to a studio finally getting certain characters right.

Fox's mistreatment of comic book/super hero movies is only one part of a bigger hatred of Fox. This would've been better suited in Misc Films since I've had a love/hate thing about Fox's movie projects going on 20+ years.

They have done some great Marvel comics movies and some terrible ones but it isn't that different than how they've handled their other non-Marvel properties either.

All I was saying is that sure they have created stinkers but and MS apparently hasn't buy they have taken a good number of libertys. They look to be becoming more like FOX now...

Lets not forget the terrible piece of garbage known as FOX news.

Hey....the dude could be really good. :woot:

Absolutely. He's not too young to be one of the smartest scientists in the world :o

When I look for a mature man to be the genius Reed Richards, I go to movies like "Project X", "21 and Over" and "Are We Officially Dating?" :o

While we're at it, lets get Seth Rogen to play Ben Grimm, and Miley Cyrus as Sue Storm.

I REALLY hope this is a rumor that never comes to be.

I think Fox has been on a roll with the X-Men since at least with FC and onto what they have planned for DOFP.

Spider-Man, FF they should go back to marvel but somehow I enjoy the X-Men existing in their own world separately.

I just want the F4 back at Marvel, X-Men are fine at FOX. They had a mix of bad and good with the X franchise and they seem to be on the right track now.

Exactly, feel the same way.

I don't hate or blame Fox or any other studio for keeping the rights to characters.

Marvel sold the rights to these characters to stay afloat and as a result we have MCU.

I do wish Fox would sell Disney Fantastic Four though. We need Skrulls, Dr. Doom and the FF team in the MCU.

Indeed without Fox there'd be no MCU.

1) Fox gives Marvel Studios the FF. The MCU focuses on the classic "four-color" comic books....Hulk, Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Dr. Strange, Black Panther, etc.
2) Fox expands the X-Universe with new titles and brands, including Wolverine, Deadpool, X-Force, X-Factor, Cable, New Mutants, and others.
3) Marvel Studios gives its "street level"/Marvel Knight heroes to Sony, who then expand into a crimefighter-type universe, including Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Blade, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Moon Knight.

Great post. Though Fox should sell the rights not give them back.

Scott was Hawkeyed?! I WISH Scott was Hawkeyed!

Mind control by the villain until the end.

*cough* Mandarin *cough*

yeah, because Marvel did such an awesome job with the Mandarin :whatever:

Exactly

Please, Mandarin was NOWHERE near as bad as Dr Doom or Galactus.

Infact, no other villains in the MCU or any other CBM (DC included) were as bad as the Norman Orborne rip off or the giant fart cloud.

Doom was still a villain, they tried. Galactus was still a planet eating villain they tried. Mandarin was purposefully written as a joke character that wasn't even a villain, they didn't even try.

And he isn't the only MCU character they butchered. Whiplash, Jarvis and lots of others.

Ok I really didn't like IM3 but there is no need to be a D*** about it people. I should have seen this coming, FOX V.S Marvel. Why can't we enjoy ALL Marvel films?

Halleluyah. Sick of this MCU is the be all and end all of CBMs crap

goign by this site i say it is more than just him stop being so defensive of marvel studios like they can do no wrong

Hell yeah, most of the movies are good but just as innaccurate as Sony/Fox. MCu fanboys are worse than Nolanties for bias loyalty

)I just wanted the terrorist Mandarin from the teasers to be real. Even without special abilities, the leader of a terrorist organization with a threat to Iron Man would've been sufficient, grounded and dark.

Thats exactly what i was looking forward to.

they actually are mcu fanboys dont support anything but mcu marvel films even if good movies like first class and wolverine happen they just wont support because it is not part of a shared universe

nolan fanboys are annoying but they dont just watch and support the nolan bat films

EXACTLY!!!, FOX have had issues as far back as james cameron's Aliens. all studios have issues but Fox seems to be the worst followed by the Weinsteins.

So just because YOU like First Class, anyone who doesn't is automatically a fanboy? There's no room for people who simply didn't like it? Wonderful logic.
