Why Pope Francis is Times "Person of the Year"

So far this Pope has been doing great things and I hope he does many more in the years to come. I'm not catholic but this guy has my support for trying to bring some sense back to the catholic people

I think a lot of the world's catholics already had some good sense. It is their leadership that's been the problem. Francisco finally gave catholics a reason not to be conflicted between their faith in God and their lack of faith in their church.

And also the idea that we should love all of humanity, whether they have the same beliefs as us or not. True compassion and understanding has been lost I believe.

Il Papa has a tough row to hoe though. Even with the terrible way the church has been treating it's gay/lesbian members you really can't fathom how much the molestation scandals have hurt the church. It certainly was not the ONLY thing that made me an atheist, but it sure as hell didn't help.

John Paul II tried to kill two birds with one stone there, which is why I despised him.

Any pope that behaves and encourages his followers to behave more like Christ is noteworthy.

He already took the bonuses the Vatican gets when the new pope's elected and put it all towards charities. So you know he's not like [most] our world leaders......he not all talk.
Edit;)

"This austere lifestyle - and the fact that Mujica donates about 90% of his monthly salary, equivalent to $12,000 (£7,500), to charity - has led him to be labelled the poorest president in the world."
No coincidence they are from the same region-

I like the fact he's actually calling out people on the hypocrisy and that he's accepting of various lifestyles even if he doesn't approve of it.

I also adore the fact he was sneaking out at night to help people. That's just plain awesome.

How does the Pope sneak out of the Vatican........I feel there's a joke there somewhere...

He just threatens them with having to say a thousand Hail Marys before their next shift or he just looks at them and they just get out of his way.

He uses the Papal Mind Trick. He goes up to the Swiss guard, waves his hand and goes, "I'm not the Pope you're looking for."

I was waiting for it......you came through PR

I'm like pizza: I'm cheesy, saucy and I always deliver!

A pizza that delivers itself, Amazon...what have you done!

It's the Pope. Why wouldn't it?

Uh oh, Pope Francisco brought out his guitar. He's going to totally rip on the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Spoilers from Francis' next mass:

"My-name-is-Say-tan. And-I-am-a-ROO-DEE-POO. CANDY-ASS!!"

:word:

"Welcome to Sunday Morn Mass!!!"
