Man, imagine how great SummerSlam could be this year. Bryan/Lesnar, Reigns/HHH, Rollins/Ambrose, and maybe even have Cesaro face someone like Orton. I'm definitely considering going to L.A. again this August. ;)

Last night's heel turn by @WWERollins was basically my 9 year old son's equivalent of the Red Wedding.

Then his son obviously hasn't seen Rollins when he first joined The Age of The Fall. THAT was a heel turn. ;)

I hope they're going to go full on with the Rollins turn. The seemingly half-assed, reluctant, uncertain approach they're going with at the moment doesn't sound too encouraging.

They obviously just wanted to get from point a to point b and let the story come later. There is a logical way to explain Rollins heel turn. Unfortunately they always try to over complicate these things with bizarre storylines. It seems anticlimactic but The Shield really had nowhere to go from here.

I'm just catching up on Raw. Cena and Stephanie's promo didn't make any sense. I give it a zero ( that means it sucked)!

There are people within WWE who believe that while it appears Erick Rowan and Luke Harper are due for a run with the WWE Tag Team Titles, they won't win the belts after all.

The talk is that WWE will be bringing up NXT Tag Team Champions Konnor and Viktor, The Ascension, soon. There's a feeling that The Usos will keep the titles until The Ascension arrives.

They're bringing The Ascension up already...? :csad:
Good news for the E's growing roster of tag team awesomeness, but bad news for NXT. The Ascension *own* NXT Tag. Yeah, it'll be great for some other team besides Ascension to get a shot at the title for a change, but it'll take a long while for some decent teams to develop any kind of fanbase.

- Ric Flair finally went to Pittsburgh on June 2nd for his WWE medical testing. If he passes the tests, Flair is expected to return to WWE TV as a regular TV character, not a wrestler.

- Things are moving slowly when it comes to the return of WWE Tough Enough. Filming was supposed to begin the first week in July at the Performance Center in Orlando but word is that could change. The key talents that WWE officials wanted on the show are not locked in and timing is becoming an issue.

- The May 31st WWE live event in Springfield, Illinois drew 4,300 fans. The June 2nd RAW in Indianapolis drew 9,000 fans.

- The final RAW before this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view will take place on August 11th from Portland, Oregon. There has been some talk of holding that RAW in Las Vegas.

- Former California independent wrestler Brian Tannen (Brian Reid) has been given the new ring name Tony Briggs for WWE NXT.

- WWE has reportedly quietly put money into Diamond Dallas Page’s efforts to help Jake Roberts and Scott Hall by paying for people who are experienced with rehabilitation to help out if any problems come up with the two. It’s a daily battle for both Hall of Famers.

Jake worked indie shows in Oregon this past week and was invited to a strip club by some of the wrestlers after the show. Jake turned down the invite and said if he went, he knows what would happen next.

Jake has also reportedly been in contact with Bray Wyatt, giving him advice at times on his character.

- We’ve noted that Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Title was not penciled in for SummerSlam but there was one idea going where Lesnar would win the title at SummerSlam, only to see Money In the Bank winner Cesaro cash in and take the title from Lesnar.

Obviously everything is up in the air with Bryan’s status for Money In the Bank on June 29th but word this week is that Bryan vs. Lesnar is indeed one of the long-term plans right now for a SummerSlam main event.

The Lesnar vs. Cesaro feud, which would be part of Cesaro’s babyface turn, would take place after the Bryan match at SummerSlam.

Cesaro/Lesnar sounds like CM Punk/Lesnar all over again. Not that that's a bad thing. Get the kendo sticks ready, Mr. Heyman. :word:

Summerslams recently have been great, and everything you just listed is a possibility of happening. I certainly hope this turns out to be the case.

Ah, the days when a wrestler turning heel could toy with your emotions. Sometimes I miss those. Although I remember Andre turning heel just stomped on my heart, so maybe I'm being overly nostalgic.

I just did that and I literally just see Wyatts and Usos.

nxt was really good this week :D
always amazed by how much they actually fit into an hour

blows wwe's main shows out of the water in terms of tightness and structure
and it destroys impact, not that there's much competition from tna

The general feeling within WWE was that Seth Rollins turning on The Shield was good as far as mixing things up and came as a shock but there was still at least some negative reaction.

Word is that there were more than a few people backstage questioning the logic of Rollins turning. Also, the belief from one source is that if they were going to split the group up, it should have been Dean Ambrose that turned.

I want to see Cesaro deliver flying uppercuts and the neutralizer on Lesnar.

They have a number of new tag teams they can push on NXT to fill the void such as The Legionnaires (Sylvester Lefort & Marcus Louis), Vaudevillians (Aiden English and Simon Gotch), Kalisto & El Local, Jason Jordan & Tye Dillinger, Baron Corbin and Sawyer Fulton (who Triple H is high on apparently) and Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady (once Enzo is fully healed up).

Big Cass and Enzo are already over on NXT and Aiden English is pretty popular so the Vaudevillians could do well. The other tag teams need to develop more but overall six tag teams is solid enough for a division on NXT.

Well, there's The Shield and Evolution.

...wait, no.

Anyway, The Real Americans are still pretty popular, so...

....wait. Dammit!

The Rhodes Brothers....? I dunno, looks like they're on their way to breaking up, too.

Prime Time Players? Tons of Funk? Rybaxel? The Bella Twins....???

Okay: WWE *used* to have a solid tag division, but Haitch seems committed to driving a wedge in every single team out there.

Put Ziggler and Sandow on a team. They're doing nothing solo but as a team they'd have instant heat.

At this point, the only teams that are still together on a week to basis are The Usos, The Wyatts, Rybaxel, Los Matadores & 3MB.

I would actually be open to the idea of 3MB getting an actual push in the tag team division. Those guys are entertaining and make the most of every minute they get of their TV time. It would take some rehab to make them legit contenders, but you could throw together some guys to establish them & let them get on a roll. Perfect way to accomplish that? After the Wyatts get their shot, a #1 Contenders Tournament!

Here's how I'd lay it out:

So for the sake of this fictional tournament where I'm re-establishing 3MB, let's say The Usos retain and you cool off Harper & Rowan for a bit and keep them with Bray for the time being. My bracket:

First Round
3MB vs. R-Truth/Xavier Woods
The Ascension vs. Los Matadores
Rybaxel vs. Kofi Kingston/Justin Gabriel
Mark Henry/Big E vs. The Miz/Damien Sandow

Semi-Finals
3MB vs. Henry/Big E
The Ascension vs. Kingston/Gabriel

Finals
3MB vs. The Ascension

Since 3MB can always have a third member on the outside to run interference, that will propel them through the tournament. I'd even have them start smashing guys with a guitar, a la Jeff Jarrett. Let 3MB run with the gimmick and make it more than it already is - these guys are fun jobbers, but they'd make great heels if you let them.

As for the Ascension, a tournament like this would help them upon their debut and I've matched them up in the first two rounds against guys that will make them look good and bump like crazy for Konnor & Viktor. In the finals, losing to 3MB via shenanigans helps keep Ascension looking strong as well and sets them up as someone to fear in the division.

Let me know what you guys think - I tried to keep the face/heel dynamic even as much as possible and give a little shine to guys who haven't been getting tons of TV time recently (like Henry, Kingston & Gabriel). Also, don't worry about Sandow, because Miz is taking the pinfall in this purely hypothetical tournament. :woot:

I also like 3MB, even 3MB + Hornswaggle. I'd like them to go back to the gimmick where they'd wear a different set of costumes depending on which city they were in to get crowd heat.

Remember that's basically what Edge and Christian did in the Attitude Era, and things worked out for them.

I agree. Like Nolan said earlier though, if the end result is to destroy Evolution from within, I'll feel let down, tbh.

Wasnt the tag division the best attribute of WWE months ago? Things went down quick.

Im a pretty big Cody Rhodes fan and loved the Rhodes Bros run. Along with Ziggler, I hope Cody gets something close to some a push.

I think the tag team division is in a temporary lull, but is poised to ramp up again. The Usos are majorly over, which surprises me. Rowan/Harper are finally being treated as a legit tag team, rather than just being two goons who back up Bray Wyatt. The Ascension seems to be ready to break into the main roster.

Rybaxel needs Coulter to manage them in the worst way. If that happens, then kaboom, you've got at least four legit tag teams operating at once.
