Anyone else remember Nintendo saying that the Wii would have an add-on for playing DVDs? I just noticed they haven't shown-or even spoken of it-since E3. They have a tab for it on the Wii's official website, but it can't be accessed.

If I remember correctly, they said that there was some add-on you would insert into the disc slot in order to take up a little room as possible.

Who cares ? By this time everybody has probably 2-3 or even 4 things at home able to play DVDs...

It has DVD playback out of the box however, you will need to buy the DVD remote seprate to enable that playback.

I remember hearing you'd need to buy an add-on as well, but I mean in the room I'll be using my Wii in, I already have a DVD-Recorder, a HD-DVD player, a DVD 5-Disc changer on the home theater system, and a PC (attached to my TV) that plays DVDs as well. Why would I even care if it plays DVDs? I kinda wished Nintendo never bothered with that unless it can do something cool like integrate DVDs and the Wii somehow.

DVD players are a dime a dozen. My Wii is a one in a million.
