No, keep all your clothes on, I wanna do it 'washing machine' style, although sometimes me knick knacks shrink in the wash, if ye know what I mean guvnur.

If by 'british' you mean the cockney slang for 'pregnant', well, yes, yes I am, and one of you two guys is the father. Personally, I don't know who the father is, maybe you can tell me, which one of you was wearing the Darth Vader outfit?

lol@ this thread now...

Not only should The Avengers do better than any Marvel "prequel" movie before it (i.e., Iron Man 2, Thor,..etc), I'd expect it to rival with Spider-Man @ $800m worldwide...

lol @ this thread now??? lol @ this thread then. Of course The Avengers is going to outgross Wolverine. Wolverine didn't even crack $180 million. If The Avengers doesn't do that, something is wrong.

I didn't know what the BO numbers were for Wolverine origins, and the rest of the Avengers solo movies, so i had a wee look...

aye, Wolverine was just a kick in the arse off 180, it made 179,883,157, domestically....and 193,179,707 internationally, for a total of 373,062,864...
and that was after 4.5 million people illegally downloaded the film due to the leaked workprint a couple of weeks previous to it's theatrical release, so who knows how much it would have made if not for that leak, much more than 180,000,000 i would wager.

and looking at Cap's numbers, even with the boost of the 3D ticket prices, it did less domestically than Wolverine, as well as less internationally...
176,654,505...domestic
191,750,151....international
368,404,505 tot

Thor beat both Wolverine and Cap...with the aid of 3D ticket prices as well...
181,030,624 dom
267,482,200 int
448.5 mil total

the Iron-Man movies of course trumping all of them..
IM1...
318,412,101 dom
266,782,121 int
585,174,222 tot

IM2...
312,433,331 dom
311,500,000 int
623,933,331 tot

So, i guess the biggest surprise for people here is that Cap, even with the 3dticket prices, didn't beat Wolverine, either domestically, or internationally, even with wolverine losing a lot of revenue, due to 4.5 illegal downloads *before* release, nevermind how many people saw it during release illegally.

But, y'know, I guess you can take from that what you want, I don't usually look up BO numbers, I'm not as superstitious as some folk when it comes to things like this, in predicting future events, haha, what I do is focus on the reality of the situation, and just wait patiently to see what happens.

Thor would've still grossed more than those XO: Wolverine overally even without 3D ticket sales, it still would've been in the 400 millions.

3D is not only a boost, mind you. Since tickets are more expensive, less people are willing to see it. Especially since it's lost its novelity and people realize that it's just a cheap gimmick to prevent bootlegs

Yea i know a lot of people who refuse to watch 3D. Doesn't help when some cinemas only show certain films in 3D. In the end, people just won't bother going to the cinema.

Well, Cap came the week after Deathly Hallows 2, so it didn't have all that much room to breathe.
