Will there be any announcements or q and a sessions this year?

idk,but i'd say for marvel movie fans, this year willl be boring, not much is coming out in 2009, just wolverine.

Well remember in 2006 they had the announcement panels for Iron Man and Incredible Hulk with Favreau, Leterrier, etc. This year they could make announcements on the directors for Cap or Thor, et al.

Plus they are screening Hulk vs. Wolverine and Wolverine and the X-men

I think Watchmen and the new Star Trek will be the hyped movies of the SDCC.

On G4 today they said that the Punisher Warzone and Wolverine will be the only movies being previewed and that they have gotten a 1st draft of Captain America, they are still working on Ant-Man and Thor. Looks like a dud this year (other than Wolverine!).

A Dud? Star Trek, Wolverine and WATCHMEN?! Hardly a dud, friend-o...

The industry is coming off of a huge work halt, and its about to face another one.

I think having premieres for the animated stuff is pretty cool though, and I am definitely checking them out.

Is Leterrier supposed to appear? What was all that about him asking fans at CC who they want for Hulk 2?

I wouldn't be surprised if we got a Thor director announcement out of it.

Favreau said he has seen the Captain America concept art. It would be awesome if that was shown, kind of like what they did with The Incredible Hulk.

oh, wasn't sure if Mathew was going to do it or not.

They should hire someone soon, if they want to take their time.

Marvel either has a new director or they better move VERY fast to get one. Thor is supposed to be out in 2010, and without a director this late in the game, they might not be able to. Unlike IM2, they need to cast, secure filming locations/schedule, storyboard, get the script within a manageable budget (if they haven't already). Not to mention countless other things that still need done.

Well they announced Leterrier and Favreau at SDCC 06 at the Marvel Studios panel.

There is going to be a Marvel Studios panel of sorts on the 25th with Kevin Feige talking about what's going on with Marvel Studios. So who knows, maybe some director announcements will be made.

I think we'd better at least get Thor's announcement. Time is winding down for Thor. At least Cap they have a bit more time to get done (though not much more).

I think the time is right for Thor. But the SAG issue is still unresolved.
