The Dark Knight Will the Batmobile return or be completely redesigned?

I vote redesign. That old batmobile couldn't have been very fuel efficient and must hae set a bad precedent in our current times with the global climate crisis. :p

Lucius Fox is gone.

Bruce is going to have to modify the Lamborghini using designs from the original Batmobile. Long story short it's going to look comic-like.
Lucious is not gone...watch the movie again. I didn't catch it the first time but listen to what Lucious says. He says something to the effect of "I will not work here at Wayne Enterprises as long as that thing is in operation." Bruce replies, "Just type in your name when you're done." It is to be assumed that Lucious believed that by typing in his name that that would serve as his resignation. However, we all saw that when he typed it in, the sonar/spy computer destroyed itself. You can see Lucious smirking as he walks away when it's blowing up behind him.

Point in case being, Lucious said that he would not work for Wayne Enterprises as long as the spy sonar thing was up and running...since it is destroyed we can assume that he will now stay working with Bruce at Wayne Enterprises.

Also, the Lamborghini was also destoyed when it was hit protecting the GPD SUV.

we need some of our artists to come up with some redesignes of the tumbler, a little more sleek is what i want but still to have that tank like appearence....

what happened to the tumbler when it blew up, did batman just let it sit there on the street?

i think batman should get a boat or something cuz gotham city has a lot of water areas he could cruise on.

Lucious is not gone and like the other poster said, Lambo is destroyed. I'm sure he has spare ones in his big car collection. I'd love to see the damn Batcave back and in working order as well as the mansion with a huge garage that shows his cars for once, lol

The Tumbler self destruct once he drove away.

I'd like to see Nolan's version of the jet

Soooo, Bruce and Lucious have billions at their disposal. They have tons of resources and black market designers, and you expect them to tack some black sheet metal on to a lambo and call it a batmobile? Are ya nuts?
I'd like to see something that shares the same look as the tumbler, with stealth shielding, hard corners, etc. But, designed to be a little faster and maneuverable. Chances are in Batman 3 he's going to be outrunning the cops quite frequently now that he's a wanted dude. They're basically needing to lessen the tank qualities of the vehicle and make it a little more streamlined. And, yes, it needs to be more bat-like. I don't want to see fins though.... god, just looking back on those make me realize how pointless they really are. In Batman: Gotham Knight the "Field Test" short had an interesting hybrid of the tumbler and 89 Batmobile.... could be interesting, but knowing Nolan he's going to go a completely different direction from what we expect.

The Bat-Neon. Dodge Neon, done Batman style. haha. j/k A completely new vehical is what's needed. As others have said, the Lambo would make a great fast Batmobil. Wayne can afford a new Lambo and add stuff to it. The use of The Tumbler would be too illogical now, even though he could just get another one.

As for Jets, boats and other things, I'm not so sure about that stuff. Where would Batman land a Bat-Wing when he goes out? I'm not quiet sure how Batman intended to land the Bat-Wing in '89 or '95.

A Bat-Boat would be cool, but what purpose could he have for one? Of course, you can say that crime could start taking place on the water to affoid Batman in the city. Drug and weapon deals and all.

The Bat-Pod worked for TDK because it was an instant vehical.

Mmm...I have a Dodge Caliber, perhaps we could see a Bat-Caliber!!! yes. haha

I hated the design of the Tumbler before seeing Batman Begins. After seeing the thing in action, I fell in love with it.

With that said, I like the Tumbler, but I'm not against a redesign. Why not?

Yes to the tumbler coming back. No... no... NO... NOOOOO to the cheesy fins and "bat motifs". PUH-LEEZE people! Has Nolan not proven to you all that this franchise can be FULL of kickassery without spandex, bat-shaped everything, and cheese?

The tumblers were designed to work as a pair so it is very likely the other one is either in bats' possession already or can be easily. Lucius said the bridge didn't work which means they tested it with two of the vehicles.

Ban cheesy batfins!

Usually when a vehicle self-destructs it's time for a new design...:cwink:

I actually think one of the things Nolan originally had in mind for his three Batman films was to first place Batman in the real world, without all the things that on the surface seem ridiculous (Batmobile, costumed supervillains, etc), and work toward those things gradually, and have them all make sense by the end of the third film. I wouldn't be shocked if by the end of the third film we have an actual Batmobile, a fully functioning Batcave, costumed supervillains, and a Gotham straight out of the comics. If that was Nolan's plan, I applaud him for it. Instead of taking the easy way out, and just having Gotham start off with one foot firmly planted outside reality like Burton, where a Batmobile, colorful supervillains, etc. all seem perfectly normal, he decided to show how the city went from point a to point b.

If they do redesign the batmobile I hope they don't try to make it too flashy and cartoonish with fins and stuff like that. What I loved about the tumbler is that it wasn't pretty, it was all about utility. It made sense.

WHAT ARE YOU DENSE? ARE YOU ******ED OR SOMETHING!? THE GODDAMN BAT-BIKE!

Agreed! no fins nor bat motifs! since the tumbler is inspired in a bat it would be redundant, lol... The other tumbler should be taken and have some minor changes inspired in...

In Batman: Gotham Knight the "Field Test" short had an interesting hybrid of the tumbler and 89 Batmobile....
a really interesting design, really, some ideas could be taken from it

It seems that some of us do not agree in whether Fox will continue working for Wayne or not, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a "the fate of Lucious Fox" thread later...:woot::oldrazz:

After watching that BATMAN TECH on the History Channel just now, it makes me want to Tumbler back even more. It's too bad-ass!

Am I the only one who thinks the Tumbler is a bad idea? He's driving a freaking TANK! A TANK!!! What's so freaking stealth about A TANK!? Seriously, go with the lambourghini with some modifications to make it look more like the batmobile and a lot more armoured. Subtle fins like in this:http://wallpapes.ru/data/media/508/batmobile_animated_series_by_dvnc.jpg only it's connected via a spoiler to make it look more realistic would definitely work.

I like that theory and his willingness to portray Two-Face imagery straight from the novel solidifies that . The have been conversations hinting toward this . A t this point there a very few villains who could be portrayed in true realistic fashion : Riddler , Catwoman , and it depends how they do penguin [if they do]
I would them to do a take on poison ivy and mr freeze but i dont think we will see that , even though i think it would be good.

The tumbler will most likely be somewhat different . With every movie there has to be new toys. Not necessarily a bad thing but just how it is.
