Say the show does well enough to be renewed...but, still lags a bit in the ratings they are looking for. I wonder if they may flash forward a few years to get an older (late teens) Bruce? Showing him more involved.

This is what we all thought with Fringe, but WBTV let Fox have it for cheap/almost free so that they could reach the 100 episode mark for syndication.

As for a flashforward, the show runner Bruno Heller has done this on his old show Rome with Octavius growing up to be Augustus.
