Transformers Will Transformers Trounce the Competition?

Don't think so J. That's a pretty difficult challenge. One that I and many here are not up to.

Oh I'm always up to it. Just haven't had time to post as much lately.

I dont think Transformers will crack the top 3 box office wise, but as far as movies this summer I hope I enjoy it as much or more so than I did Spiderman.

Costs extra $$$. Plus, I think it's a whole WB thing.

The only two live action thus far- Superman Returns & Harry Potter.

Both are WB films.

I hope they don't. SR in 3d was a crappy experience IMO. It was more of a distraction than anything. So yeah : to 3d Transformers.

I don't disagree.... but it was cute for the kiddies. My daughter enjoyed the 3D thing. The airplane scene (best scene in the movie) was pretty cool in that regard if I remember correctly.

So what. Maybe they shouldn't go to 3d movies then. LOL Radio discriminates against the deaf. Actually 3d is difficult for me just a bit because I have less than 20/20 vision in one eye. However the other eye compensates so it's generally pretty cool.

i saw it in 3d and it was distracting...
i also saw the nightmare before christmas in 3d and it was awesome.

spykids 3d however........ red-blue everything!

If they only release the IMAX version in 3D then what choice do I have if I want the IMAX experience? And I'm the same as you...****ed up left eye and 20/20 in my right. Until they can improve the 3d experience (something I'm counting on Cameron to do with his 3d filming techniques) then to hell with 3d in movies. Especially movies with extremely fast action scenes...just a big blur :

It's not that big of a deal to most people. Pirates and Spidey. It should be happy with 200 million if it can make that. Die Hard might have something to say about that.

That's my estimate too. With a little below (180) and a little above at MOST (250). 280? No way that's going to happen guys, I'm a huge fan of the film- can't wait and even I don't see that as realistic.

Agreed. Harry Potter will pull its usual ridiculous 230+ numbers and Transformers WILL have to fight against that. We have no idea how Die Hard will do but I expect it to do fairly well...and there's always The Simpsons...which could also be a wildcard.
