Superman Returns Will you read reviews about SR before seeing it or wait to read after seeing it?

When a critic is negative towards a movie, it doesnt really effect me or my judgement of the movie but when i read a good review, it gets me excited to see movie. I remmember reading Begins review and i was hyped. Besides i m 100% certain this movie is going to be a big hit and i m not usually wrong with my predictions.

Will I read the reviews? Yes. Will it affect my opinion? Nope.

I'll go see it for myself. I can't trust the reviews.

Priceless. :D

LMAO! :D

i for one coulnt give a rats furry behind what the critics say (no offense to those who does it for a living/ hobby), i always watch a film first, post my own assesment then read what others have got to say about the film.

the problem with reading a reviews ahead of time are that they tend to influence your view of the film-- even if you say you're not affected theres a strong posssibility that it already has, even the slightest bit. the only way to gaurantee that someone's opnion doesnt affect your own is to not read it.

The new Superman movie should have a villian. Come on, the general public have had their fair share of Superman dealing with everyday problems and thugs in Lois and Clark and now Smallville. We finally get a multimillion dollar movie and he's just fighting Lex again? Cheap.

Great work sticking to topic:rolleyes:

Go whine in the appropriate forum!

I'll read Ebert's review. Not because I agree with him every time, but because he writes very well-thought-out, honest, and clear reviews. He never presumes to project his opinion on other people, making predictions on who will like this or that. He always simply talks about his own opinion, which I respect more than other reviews.

I agree. I'm in disagreement with him probably half the time but he is always a very interesting read. I will be curious about his opionion as he was a big fan of the first two Reeve movies although his opionion will not sway me.

I no doubt will be following the Tomato meter closely but again will form my own opinion of the movie.

How about you back off of him!!!!!!

Another great example of sticking to topic - by the way how's your movie going "friend" doing? You're a job and a half my friend!

Wow - someone who knows a person in law school - well now I'm impressed and intimidated! Lex Luthor probably has the same thoughts about knowing more than 3/4 of the people he deals with too!

Have a great day my nonsensical friend!

Good afternoon good people of SHH, it's almost a given that what the critics say will and won't be a hit is usually true, so we honestly shouldn't let are personal feelings get in the way, and except the truth regardless of what they say about Superman Returns. Have a good evening.

Pretty much exactly. I swear if this forum had a subtitle, it'd be "every brainfart you ever had manifested in thread form." ;)

But JC is world renowned for spilling every thought he has in his head into a thread. I'm guessing he's not much of a READER.

i can only imagine what they said bout Superman III but you know what ill still watch it and feel like a kid again over and over no moatter how bad it is

I have good feeling about reviews.

Critics will like it, I am sure. They are wrong with their predictions, but sometimes I am agreed with their opinions.

Anyway, I see SR getting 83% on Rotten Tomatoes

I never pay attention to critics or reviews. I might hear what they have to say or read the review, but it doesn't form my opinion. I form my opinion.

I read a couple for almost every movie I watch (normally ones that aren't excessively spoilerish) and it rarely fazes me when it's time to watch the movie.
