Not officially confirms, but close as close can be.

The title of the article is "Real Men Wear Black" with the subtitle, " An inside look at Spidey's new threads(the black costume) and Venom's debut as director Sam Raimi's new all-star Web-head villain"

The article goes into the issue vaguley saying that although there has been no official word from Sony or Marvel, actor Thomas Haden Church has let slip to sources that "[Sam's] been showing me [stuff] since the beginning of last summer," saying "This is what we're going to be doing and this is what Venom is going to be doing. It is a massive, massive process."

Something I thought you all may enjoy. I just received the issue today.

Still no conformation.
I still do not believe Venom to be in the movie.

Do you really mean you don't believe it or that you just would like an official confirmation, Ben?

And thanks, Nasotm. While we already new that much it was still good information because now we know that Wizard doesn't have any inside information and Powder-man was right in his guess.

Are you one that believes that Eddie will be in it but no Venom or Are you just completely in denial???? Sometimes I swear, We could have trailers and pics all of Venom.... And people would still be on the fence. (sigh)... Cheers!

Sony knows that most of us know that Venom will be making an appearance in this movie but they also know that if they confirm what we know, what we know will no longer be able to generate the amount of hype that it has with all of us wondering when it will be confirmed that what what we know is true is true, so by not confirming or denying what we already know, they know that all of us talking about what we know (but not officialy know) will generate more hype for the movie. Then when he is finally seen on the big screen it can still be seen as a surprise because by not confirming what we know they can say as far as any of you knew Venom was not going to be in the movie cuz we never said he would be.

If an official picture or trailer came out from Sony of Venom, then no one would be on the fence..... with that said however; I guaranty Topher Grace is not Eddie Brock/Venom. Eddie Brock is in this film, as a set up for Venom.... but I promise you, Topher is not Eddie.

Truthfully I have no idea but you can't argue with it if you don't understand it.

:)

Actually to put it basically they are being very sneaky in their marketing strategy. Sandman has been confirmed and how much do we talk about him (we do but not much). Instead all of our talk is about Venom and GG2 which is becoming more and more frequent the more sony does not confirm them. So by not confirming them they know we will keep talking about them thus generating even more Hype for the movie.

Think of it like this:

Hype is infectous. The more they keep secrets, but let certain clues slip, the more hype is created. That means more people get involved, more talk goes out about the movie. People discuss it at work or school and on these message boards. The movie becomes a success before it even comes out.

You get enough info so that people have something to talk about, but not enough to let you figure it out.

Another way to think of it is like this:

We have a virus(Anticipation for SM3), and Sony is our Doctor. The Doctor gives us a medicine(SM3 information), but instead of taking the daily amount of doses, we take it in fractions or small amounts. Because we're getting our medicine out of rhythm and rather sparsley sometimes...The virus gets stronger and stronger. The virus is getting immune to the medicine, and to be cured, we need higher doses and stronger medicine(more news, pics, confirmations, and cast names). Doctor Sony says we'll be cured on May 4th, 2007. So we take our medicine and wait.

Denial!

So basically less screen time for Harry.Wondeful.

A word to all of you, take Wizard Magazine with a grain of salt when it comes to comic movie news. They were the same ones that said Johnny Depp was looked at for Bruce Banner and that Hulk was going to come out in July '98. Five years and a ****tier movie than anticipated off........

They're not a reliable source when it comes to concrete info, they even said it in one of their magazines that they basically spread rumors--the same stuff we, more or less, here on either these boards or imdb. :down
