Wolverine and the X-Men

W&TX is good and solid; I like how they are massaging the X-verse with the stories and characters they use and I hope they continue to do that. I just hope they don't burn out and run dry.

I am so sick of the people who don't know the comics where Wolvie comes from and only like those lame ass movies.

The reason wolverine wears a mask is because he is from a Comic Book and he is a Super Hero and they wear them.

They keep it up because he comes from comics not from movies that were directed by a moron who doesn't care about the fans and comics and disrespects them both.

The mask rocks. And the cool thing with Wolvie is with his hair and mutton chops and mask he looks great both ways and they do both uin the new 'toon.

He wears a mask, get over it.

Good God. What are you talking about?

I think Spider-Bat just doesn't like the X-men movies or costumes and that Wolverine doesn't wear a mask in the movies.

Whatever. Wolverine as a character isn't defined by his mask. Sorry. I mean I prefer Wolverine with the mask and all, and I love his classic costume, but you know Wolverine's costume isn't like the Batman or Spider-man costume. Plus Wolverine goes through costume changes all the time.

The costume he wears in this show is his updated one since 2004.

True. And considering how the X-Men series was one of the first successful franchises during the so called "comic book movie renaissance" I can't blame Bryan Singer for his more "real world" approach at all. The last thing anybody wanted was for this movie to stir up memories of "Batman & Robin" so they toned down the extravagent costumes and theater goers an x-men that was a fairly brilliant metaphore of racism, unity and the path to self discovery.

And audiences loved it.

Now maybe when Fox's rights are up, Marvel can do their own "in house revamp" into the Avengers-verse they're setting up with a look and feel closer to that which the comics and the animated shows have portrayed. And if they could find a good way to balance it all, than I say godsPeed.

im surprised this show is being given 26 episodes for its first season. the norm these days for animated series has been 13 i guess Marvel/Nick are that confident in the 'X-Men' name.

i have to say after watching half the season much of my skepticism is fading. i've been wrapped up in X-Men back-issues for a good 2 years now that part of me was expecting this new show to still harken back to those stories like X-Men TAS did. and i kept wanting to 'tag' it along to something- either the comics because it's presented that the X-Men and all these characters already have a long history, or with the movies with Logan and Rogue's relationship and Scott's situation and 2/3 of the same characters "dying". from the first episode it felt like it was continuing from something instead of starting fresh. and i think thats what has bothered me the most. that's probably why i was able to enjoy Evolution faster because it was obvious they were starting fresh. but the further you get into the show you get immersed into this new world that their building with the characters and the things i listed don't matter so much anymore.

.....but i still don't like the title.

So, the show airs in the US three weeks ago and we get repeats of the same first two episodes the whole 3 weeks. And why is Rogue running away from the Sentinel? Shouldn't she be able to just trash that thing without blinking?

The Rogue in this series doesn't have her "Ms. Marvel" absorbed powers, but her actual mutant ability to absorb the life force and powers (at least for a short period) of mutants or other living beings. Her powers are useless against a Sentinel and without another mutant to gain powers from, running was the best option for her.

Im waiting on ep 18 right now... but seriously this show has been excellent. I love how the animation style has take the positive elements from anime and ditched the annoying ones, while maintaining a very cinematic presence, and distinct style (shows like batamn brave and the bold are insults to real artists everywhere, what is that crap? its like bad coloring book animation)

anyway the stories in wolverine are reminding me of a mix between the 90's comics and the current run on astonishing x-men. Very enjoyable and loyal to the comics core elements. The recent episode with silver samurai was exceptional, and finally showed the samurai wolverine I'm such a big fan of.

my biggest beef with the show...... wolverine is too tall

Cartoons always make Wolverine taller than usual, aside for HULK VS. WOLVERINE. Hell, the comics for a very long time seemed to forget that he was supposed to be 5' 3'' and shorter than many of the ladies on the X-Men, even Kitty. Frankly I have been waiting for the comics to just put Logan at "average" height of 5' 8'' and be honest with themselves after all these years. ;)

yeah... he was appropriate height in hulk vs. ... deadpool was awesome in that though.

I do actually like the wolverine and the xmen animation better than that one though. It didnt have much consistency. His shape kept changing.

This is a good show but i still don't get why they couldn't just make this an X-men cartoon instead of Wolverine and the X-men. I know Wolverine is the most popular X-man but i mean creatively. What makes a Wolverine cartoon better than a X-men cartoon?

Yeah, but they worked their way around this by making every male on the team taller than him.

They wanted to do something different, Wolverine is immensely popular, and has a movie coming out this year, which will be on DVD by Christmas.

In terms of domestic and international ratings, this strategy has worked. In terms of show quality, it has been hit and miss. It's a good show, but not a great one.

I like this show, a lot. At first, the artwork didn't please me at all: huge arms and small legs ain't my thing. Moreover, they gave Wolvie his yellow spandex with the mask... again. I was getting used to his Ultimate navy blue outfit (with some yellow). :(

Can't wait for seasons 2 and 3 though! And more New X-Men (Prodigy, Surge, Anole, Gentle, etc.)!!

So I'm surprised how much I like this show honestly. I thought it may be a letdown, but I was pleasantly proven wrong.

Plus anything that inspires me to draw X-Men related again can't be bad.

I was kind of suprised when they showed Logan towering over Rogue, who's a good six inches taller than Logan in the comics.
I wonder if Logan getting taller has anything to do with Hugh Jackman .

Honestly, I'm disappointed by the show. The art isn't great, the fights are not special or exciting and the story just isn't compelling enough. All my opinion, of course. I wasn't wowed by this like I was by Spectacular Spider-Man.
I loved X-Men Evolution. Everything on it. But this show is far away from that.
