Wolverine and X-men Anime Series Comings

I hope we gets the new x-men series on 2011. I need something more apart from the First Class movie.

The Iron Man one is already through a dozen episodes by now. Maybe that's the entire 1st season, I dunno. The Wolverine one debuted 3 days ago on the 7th. I saw it, it started a little weak and all but i gotta say by the end i was interested enough to keep watching the next one. Loved the sword fight at the end.

I'm a little worried now about all the anime having a broadcasting deal with G4 though. I mean does anyone even watch G4 anymore?

I also heard G4 is no longer on DirecTV so I mean . . . I think they should try and get a better broadcasting deal for the shows. I think SyFy would even be better at this point.

I didnt realize any of them started airing yet

Well I do everything online these days. I haven't owned a TV in years. Plus, they haven't had them dubbed yet so I doubt they'll be showing up on something like SyFy until that get's done. I'm sure they're showing up on broadcast TV in Japan, tho.

Kedrell, G4 is already a done deal and that was announced last year for all the shows. G4 got the American broadcasting rights for all 4 Marvel anime shows.

For the subtitled version, sure. But I'm talking about rebroadcasts in future years...which will probably be after they're dubbed.

Kedrell . . . I'm not sure you realize what you are talking about.

As of now, no one is showing it on TV in the US subtitled or otherwise. G4 will be showing all four shows at some point probably this year or next year. My sources tell me it probably will be re-versioned when they are shown on G4. But that's not yet confirmed.

Oh, ok. I thought it was already on G4 and that people were bugged by that since not all cable/sattelite services have that channel. Anyway, I doubt G4 will hold on to it forever. It'll be in syndication on some other channel...eventually.

That is my hope because of G4's lack of ratings and access right now. Unless they got back on DirecTV, which I haven't heard about.

Ok, just saw Wolverine episode 2. Who's the dude at the end with the sword coming out of his hand? I must admit to not knowing much about Wolverine lore or characters.

Just saw the first episode and I didnt care for it much. Im not a big fan of Wolverine solo and its the X-men that round him out and make him interesting but they are nowhere to be found here. I hope some do appear like Jubilee and Psylocke. That would be reminiscent of their Madripoor days.

I was confused about how they would approach this series. I thought it would be an American show with an anime style, kind of like Fantastic Four. I wasnt expecting it to be a Japanese show based on an American character. It's extremely heavily influenced by Japanese culture, more so than I thought it would be.

The Iron Man one was the same way.

I watched the first two episodes of the Wolverine anime. I hate the mullet and the bishounen face they've given him. But I love the action moves. He really does slash his opponents and displays some martial arts. The action isn't as good as a Masami Obari choreography but at least he looks competent. It's good to hear what Logan could sound like if he spoke Japanese, so I hope they'll keep some of that in the English dub. Mariko and her father look great. So does Yukio - who's no longer introduced as a love interest and a thief. Instead she's a rogue assassin who wants revenge on Shingen. They've also decided not to use "Harada" as the last name of Shingen but keep the family name of Yashida. Asano's fate was inevitable but at least he was treated with respect. I hope to see more of his team. If they don't show much of Madripoor in the 1st twelve episodes I hope they do so in the last.

I do hope they keep this zeroed on the Claremont/Miller saga. I hate Omega Red. If he does appear Logan should just finish him off in two episodes. The Japanese writers can make better opponents. Hopefully they can do a better rendition of Ogun than Marvel's previous writers. The A.I.M. angle is interesting. I'd have preferred if they used HYDRA instead because it would be great if they absorbed Shingen's Kuzuryu Organization as one of its 'tentacles', leaving Shingen dumbfounded and powerless to stop it.

I wondered if I stayed in the Philippines would I have seen this through cable. But fortunately it's not listed on the S.E. Asian Animax. So watching it online is okay.

It's good so far. I imagine this version will be a stronger overall extended adaptation of the Miller/Claremont story than the new Wolverine movie in production.

Ok, just saw episode 3. Kinda lackluster, IMO. Too much standing around and 'striking a pose'. C'mon, get to fightin'!! I really wanted to see Wolverine slice up a bunch of Yakuza at the end of it but that didn't happen. Oh well, I guess next episode is Omega Red so that's something to look forward too. So far I'd say this is the weakest episode of the 3 we have.

I had a question....When they air these on G4 will they be dubbed in english or will they still be in Japanese? I was just wondering b/c G4 airs Ninja Warrior and that's in Japanese.

I really couldn't say. I watch'em online.

If it's only broadcast in Japan, there is no English dub. You'll have to wait for the American import to be broadcasted.

because all the japanese voice actors sound the same and it really sucks reading the subtitles

It takes practice Padawan. But you can also wait for the English dubb to become available if it's picked up.
