Wolverine filming update/news.

They released the second unit crew back in May so the wrap party was probably held then so that everyone could attend. I won't believe it's wrapped until I see pictures of Hugh Jackman without the mutton-chops.
Aaah that explains it.
Thanks narrows. Would like to see the photos to see what she's talking about.
One frisky femme on the flick joked the rug was the closest she would come to sleeping with the hunky star.
Freeky.:woot:

yep.. thats exactly what it looks like, i have some photos, but i stopped posting photos on flickr a couple of years ago, can we post straight into the thread here?

holy shiz! I wonder now if this somehow ties in with the Magneto movie. It would be great if theres a mention of Cap but thats obviously not gonna happen.

btw, just curious how many wars did Wolverine actually fight in? In the comics i mean.

I don't think it'll tie directly into the Magneto movie. At best, I imagine they might show Wolverine as being present when the young Magneto first breaks the gates at the concentration camp, with him looking in surprise/confusion, followed by ominous music before ending the scene.

It's funny how those shots have got me more excited than anything we've had before. Perhaps because it shows how little I know about the screenplay.

WWII era Wolvie?

Hell yes. I'm now incredibly hyped for this film. As if Gumbo and Wade weren't enough!

Father McKenzie comes through! Check out the pics and replies - SPOILERS!!!!!!

Are you people sure that those pics weren't taken from the shooting of...Australia?

The plot summary would make sense...sort of.

Luhrmann's film is set in northern Australia prior to World War II and centers on an English aristocrat (Kidman) who inherits a cattle station the size of Maryland. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn stock-man (Jackman) to drive 2,000 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country's most unforgiving land, only to still face the bombing of Darwin, Australia, by the Japanese forces that had attacked Pearl Harbor only months earlier.

 Awesome. It will be great to see a WWII era Wolverine.

Wolverine WWII Set Pics!

Some set images from X-Men Origins: Wolverine have appeared online. Some sneaky people took the images at Blacksmiths Beach in Australia. Hugh Jackman was on set and it looks like they were filming a scene set in World War 2, possibly a flashback scene as Wolverine is expected to take place 15 years before the first X-Men movie.

From the Flickr page:

I was there today and got a few pics will post them soon!

I got an actual photo with him also liev shrider was on set aswell!

The crew were very helpful at the end of the day Hugh came over to the public area which is to the south of the SLSC and he was awesome getting photos taken signing things hugging babys and just being really friendly!

Hugh and Liev will be filmng tomorrow again from around 7 am and tomorrow there will be war boats in the water and much more explosions!

Thanks narrows, those shots are great!

Didn't one of the set reports say that there was going to be a[BLACKOUT]Vietnam war scene[/BLACKOUT] as well?

A tie-in with Captain America would be cool but i don't see it happening either.

Who is Liev Shrider?:p

Didn't they say Liev Schrieber was on the set too? He's not in Australia.

Also, the Darwin bombing scenes we've seen in the Australia trailers don't look anything like this--Hugh's not in a uniform in the clips we've seen.

It's possible, but I think it's the Wolverine set.

And awesome pics, too! :wow:

yesi dont believe Hugh is a soldier. I believe hes a rancher whos trying to save his cattle during the bombings bythe Japanese

Hugh also has a fuller beard in Australia as opposed to the trademark Wolvie mutton chops

Believe me, it's NOT from Australia. First of all, Hugh has the chops in these pics, and in Australia he doesn't play a soldier or is in uniform - besides, Australian soldiers would have had different unforms. It's definitely from this movie.

So when does filming end?

I would hope by June 30th...

Here we go again. Still recovering from a three-month writers strike that crippled the TV and movie business, Hollywood is bracing for the possibility of another walkout, this time by the Screen Actors Guild, as early as June 30.

Filmmakers already are in strike mode: Most projects due to start shooting in the spring were postponed unless they could be completed by the end of this month. Actors are sitting on the sidelines to await the outcome of negotiations.

"The studios are not greenlighting films right now. It's a bad situation," says Emile Hirsch, who finished his last project two months ago. "Hopefully, it will all work itself out. Nobody wants to be out of a job."

In all the stories I've read about filming, it's always been "June" for the end although no specific date. We'll know when we see Hugh clean-shaven. Meanwhile - another article with great shots:

Wolverine spotted on beach
Jessica Clement

HOLLYWOOD star Hugh Jackman and the multi-million dollar production of Wolverine left locals in a spin after descending on Blacksmiths beach last week.

The film, a spin-off of the hugely successful X-Men trilogy, has been shot in locations across Australia and New Zealand, with Blacksmiths identified as the ideal location to re-create the Normandy landing of WWII for the film.

Residents defied the chilly winter mornings last Wednesday and Thursday to catch a glimpse of heart-throb Jackman or his co-stars.

"I've raced off night duty, haven't gone home yet, haven't had a shower,'' said Anita O'Malley, a Blacksmiths resident.

"I just said to everyone at work that I'm coming down to see Hugh Jackman.''

Swansea-Belmont SLSC president Jeff Mowbray said he had received confirmation filming would occur at Blacksmiths just a week before production.

"I knew they were maybe considering Blacksmiths, along with some other locations, about a month ago but I didn't definitely know it would be here until last week,'' Mr Mowbray said.

"It's a bit of history.''

He said the benefits of making the Swansea-Belmont clubhouse, its surrounds and the beachfront available for the two-day shoot would ultimately filter back to the community.

"The community benefits because the club benefits, and money that the club makes will be put back into protecting our beaches,'' he said.

Jackman stars in the film alongside Liev Schreiber, the husband of Australian film actress Naomi Watts, TV's Lost star Dominic Monaghan and Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds.

The film is reportedly a prequel to the X-Men features and is scheduled for release in May, 2009.

Check out all the updates today and replies, including this one:

hi naomi.. he said the reason they were asking people not to take photos (im presuming they mean pro photos with long zooms) was because they aready had an exclusive with one of the magazines, and they didn' t want any problems with it ( the contract) but to be honestly, i don't see the problem, it's a public beach..
top work on not getting caught.. !! :)))))
