Wolverine Origins Sequel

Isn't it time to get real?

Fox will not be handing the franchise over to Marvel.
First Class, if it gets made, will effectively be a reboot.
There is not going to be a sequel to X3.

The 2012 release date will be a challenge because they'll be following "The Avengers".

Same here. I guess SOME whinny fanboys can't discern what makes a good action/adventure film if it involves a character they've read about for decades. Intelligent fanboys who can differentiate between the books and film universe enjoyed the movie quite a bit. Hugh Jackman is a great Wolverine and I can't wait to see more.

Its nothing to do with being a fanboy, its being able to differentiate a good movie from a bad one. Technically no one can claim XMOW was a 'well made movie.' Effects, etc were often average at best, and the story was told poorly as well. I dont mind changes as long they are necessary or make sense.

is this really news to people?

did you really not see this coming?

whoa, chill dude, i just said they need to move on, not drag, i know its unlikely.

Wow, you X-men/Wolverine fans are optimistic. Fanboys are usually cynical in nature, this is new.

Who do you think should be the villains for the film? I think the Hand Samurai and maybe Omega Red.

I would have to agree with this. I enjoyed Wolverine to an extent, but its not that good of film.

So will Gam - *gets popcorn thrown at her*

But seriously, I wasn't even paying attention to the progress of the first one until I heard that Gambit was gonna be in it. I'm not going to bother seeing the second if he's not in it.

They know. That's why this time they'll cram more characters into it so they can use them to promote this movie.

that seems a bit unfair. thatd be like if i said i wont see spider-man 4 if venom isnt in it..

I like to refer to it as my guilty pleasure superhero movie. :cwink:

I had not watched the leaked version, gave up on the RT score once it started to sink and walked in not expecting too much, and I wound up finding it extremely enjoyable, despite some obvious deviations from the comics (which all of the X-films are guilty of, honestly) and some well, obvious deviations from logic (why not just give Zero the adamantium bullets during the Weapon X procedure in case anything went wrong??).

But was a fun movie, and I'm looking forward to getting the blu-ray. And I'm fine with a sequel, especially since I love the Japan story. It would be nice if it was longer, had a stronger script, and they didn't try to jam so many characters into one film. But it's, you know...Fox. :whatever:

I also hope that Liev and Taylor will be back for the sequel.

It ain't for me! Sorry, but I've had enough of Wolverine as far as the movieverse is concerned. All 3 of the "X-men" movies were about him. And now he's gonna get another two?!

Not for me, thanks. The only saving grace for me would be seeing Gambit again. Now there's a character that deserves more screentime than he got in the 3 movies (none).

doesent HJ have mixed feelings about wolverine from X3?

He most likely said that to get the fans thinking X-men Origins would be a closer version of the character we know from the comics...to bad that was horse ****.

It's a little of a weird set up now because recently it's been revealed that Marvel (not Fox) has rights to characters such as Cable and Scarlet Witch.

They do!? I remember hearing about Cable (he was in the list of movies Marvel wanted to start with that writer's thing they have going on), but I didn't know about Witch, I hope they can cheat Quicksilver & Deadpool out of Fox's grubby hands. (Quicksilver had a tiny cameo in 'Wolverine')

I wonder how they'll do Cable. Make him not a mutant at all?

not trying to sound mean but...OPINION.

No need to get all sensitive about it.

Yes it is just my opinion/guess that he said that to make the fans happy but it is fact that the way he was played in X-3 as well as Origins was not like the Wolverine of the comics.

Now im worried whether X-men First Class will be UNCANNY X-men First Class... with Wolverine in lead role again! 0.0

They will probably have to release a Wolverine sequel in June which is always a busy time of year. It will probably flop in that spot. After considering it, I also think First Class should definitely be a reboot, but I doubt Fox will have the balls to reboot the franchise.

I think now that FOX see's how Marvel is doing (and is going to do in the future) theyll look back at the Xmens and hopefully see.."wow we really need to stick more to the story and less to just a summer blockbuster" and hopefully make First Class a reboot.

Or maybe I have to face reality and go see Marvels version of Xmen and Wolverine Origins when im 80 :csad:

At least our grand kids will see X-Men the way it was meant to be seen.
