Wolverine Origins Sequel

I would call someone crazy if they did mind. It all depends on Battlestar Galactica. If it starts production in 2010 to be released in 2011 then Singer might return to the X-Men in 2011 for a 2012 release. He isn't going back to Superman and with McQuarrie on board, maybe that would draw him back.

If Singer directs this, then I will be back to my X2 and pre X3 excitement days!

Singer did a good job with the first 2 movies, but I really think we need a new director.

Well, in seeing he technically made 2 "Wolverine and the X-Men" movies, maybe he'll seriously outdo himself here. Maybe he'll touch back on the origin for a few minutes, and give it the flare he hinted in with Logan's flashbacks. I'm persoanlly extremely excited to see what McQuarrie and Singer can do with this, especially since Singer knew how to control cameos, developement, Fox, etc...

Agreed, I would be super excited for Wolverine 2 if Singer is directing it, as it could actually be a very good movie.

I'd like to see Ryuhei Kitamura direct Wolverine 2. It would be great to see villains like The Silver Samurai, The Hand, and Elektra. This could be before Elektra broke free of control from the Hand Ninja Clan.

I don't care who directs it as long as we see less of the child-friendly Wolverine, more action, some blood and maybe a suit ... like the X-Force one.

Tired of the vest and jeans look now.

If the film stayed more towards what we saw in the X2 flashback I'd have been more happy.

Or show us him with his Weapon X helmet on while they train him and other such things.

Hated how watered down this film turned out to be.

Started re-playing the game tonight, why couldn't the film have been more like this!

Then that matters who directs it. We need someone to stand up to Fox's constant meddling. Singer has already given us 1 good and 1 great X-Men movie. Him directing is a light in the darkness that is Fox films.

If Singer doesnt get the gig, I wouldnt mind Len Wiseman doing it, he has a great eye for action and can do drama, and Die Hard 4.0 was a great sequel to an old franchise IMO.

An action director should have done the first movie also.

If someone comes in and doesn't do what Fox asks they will get the boot :csad:

As long as the WO sequel is not like TMNT3 then I am OK.

Apparently Bryan Singer was at the first preview of Hugh's new Broadway show last night. Wonder if they've been having any X-Men-related discussions lately?

singer is th best thing for this frtanchise right now, or anther director with the balls to make a good movie under fox

The second one can be done well. Hey it was a great summer flick. No brain needed. Not hard to beat.

lex, your avvy is hypnotizing, im just my car girl, imnanan anannannanananan... sorry, that word reminds me o system of a down

unlikely but its not 1989 yet so the soviet union is stil sanding for the sequel

I could never tell when Wolverine was set looked 70's - 80's to me?!

I do REALLY REALLY think Lauren Donner should NEVER be allowed near comic films, just because her husband did an alright job with Superman doesn't mean she will.

Most of the films she touches are total kids films, let comic ones be more for teen/late teens/adults.

Totally tired of everything been aimed at bloody kids these days.

that uis when things start sucking, maybe if fox gets bought out by wb, ewell get films like tdk on te marvel side

If they give Gavin the job again, I won't even bother seeing this.

According to the interview, he said he's not attached to it and he hasn't been asked do it.

Watching the interviews on the blu-ray and listening to some of the commentary, I think the film he wanted was far better than the film Fox made him make.

You' think by now Fox know these films will make money, let the Director make they film they like, do the odd adult scenes, then film PG-13 scenes.

If they like it great, if not let them do another film for children and later on bring out a more adult film, with blood some cuts and slashes.

They did it for the game why not the film.

Alpha Flight? Hell YES! I also agree with the random cameos point.

My advice would be to fully splinter Wolverine/Logan from the X-Universe in the next film. Use the Claremont/Miller story mentioned and forget about injecting X-mutants that don't fit. We don't need to see a Gambit or Havok or Polaris or anyone else. Give us a pure and gritty Wolverine and save the other stuff for X-Men First Class.

A part of me agrees with this, and I think that X-Men Origins: Wolverine is like the connecting point between the Wolverine series, and the X-Men series.

Because Wolverine's Weapon X story is part of the overall X-Men story (as told by the X-Men trilogy), it made sense to make X-Men Origins: Wolverine more of an X-Men prequel, and incorporate characters like Cyclops, Xavier, Emma Frost, Gambit, etc...

But now, it's appropriate for the movies to branch off into a true Wolverine solo series. It's also appropriate to delve into an X-Men First Class series (at least one movie) that takes place after the set up from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Go ahead and make Wolverine 2 rated R. It doesn't necessarily have to follow the X-Men trilogy time frame anymore. Just go and tell Wolverine's stories now.

And use the X-Men First Class series to tell some of the untold X-Men stories, like the mutant massacre. Without characters like Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Xavier, it's hard to continue with an X-Men 4, so instead we can tell these tales as taking place prior to X-Men.

It will be the best of both worlds. It will be a "reboot" in the fact that we can see Cyclops, and Storm, and such in ways that we never saw them before. And it will also be a whole new cast. But it will still be a part of the continuity as well.

To be honest, I dont know why they hired Hood, a well known dramatic director who has rarely done action, for a movie with a ton of action and not much drama. Someone like Len Wiseman would have been much more appropriate.

I think Hood can make a good X-Men movie if he's left alone. From the commentary alone he sounds like a very driven and intelligent filmmaker. And Wolverine didn't feel like "his" film. Didn't feel like it was from the same director as Tsotsi and Rendition. X-Men and X2 felt like Bryan Singer films. So if he does do another one, I hope Fox finally learns something, and lets him make his movie. Like someone else said, they're gonna make money, so there's no need to dumb things down and shorten things up to ensure that.
