Wonder Woman 1984 General Discussion and Speculation - Part 2

I need some WW84 news.

EDIT:

I found a little tidbit. Not much info, but Kristoffer Polaha is part of the cast (don't know his work):

That's old news from over a month ago. He usually plays these slimy characters. He was in Ringer. I think he was also in the last few episodes of Castle.

OK.

Waiting...

If Wonder Woman's costume in WW84 is more vibrant, then if there's a sequel to the movie, is she going to go back to a darker costume again with more subdued colours like in BvS or even Justice League?

Why did it suddenly become so bright in 1984 compared to what it was in the first movie? And after seeing it looking so vibrant, are they going to want to go back to the BvS/ JL colours? It's not like those movies were even that well received. Or are they going to ignore those?

I think we can bet that things are being retconned for the rest of the DCU. I don't see them going dark with her colors ever again, esp with Patty in the Dir Seat.

If WW3 is set in the present or future (which is what Jenkins wants to do), then it would be cool if we got a brief flashback to the scene in BvS where Wonder Woman appears, but this time it's in vibrant colours with none of the sepia filter that Snyder applied. Imagine seeing that scene all over again with completely new colours as their costumes were supposed to look.

Maybe it's like a mood ring and changes colour depending on Diana's mood or the mood of the era?

WW3 should go all out, especially if it's set in the future. Maybe take inspiration from Lynda Carter's TV special?:

I don't think they need to "redo" the BvS scene. Just leave it alone. Why draw attention to the inconsistencies?

Snyders whole thing that iwas stained from all of the wars that Diana has fought in over 1000 years which is something that doesnt happen in WW. Patty/Synder had two different interpretations of the character and her history.

Or we can think that the costume wasn't used for decades, so it got old and lost it's shine.

In Wonder Woman 3, we can have Diana walking up to someone and telling them to take off their sepia-tinted, desaturated sunglasses.

Or we just need a scene with her casually buffing out the armor...

Since it's a small thing, I think it's ignoreable. To me it's the same level as the amount of water in a glass changing between shots.

Saw this new comic solicitation of the Cheetah (DC's Year of the Villain #1 Variant). I wonder if the movie is going to go with more of this look (more Rebirth) or the older look with the human hairstyle.

the top pic is very creepy & menacing because it really looks like a wild cheetah staring in your face ready to kill you but it's kind of shaped like a human & you can't run or move. I think she could start with the long hair version then lose it when she fully transforms & becomes fully powered.

I wonder how much of a Cheetah Barbara will transform into.

I remember in "An American Werewolf in London" when the werewolf (SPOILER) was killed, he transformed back into the man he used to be. It was very sad to see him back in human form. It would be sad to see Cheetah transform back into a helpless and defeated Barbara.

I'm still hoping they go with a cheetah skin costume rather than a transformation, but I know that's probably not going to happen.

It's amazing that so far we have not seen any concept art or anything that could give us some clue about Cheetah's look in the movie, they're being so secretive.
They're doing her like ares. Kristen must have shot all her scenes in a studio because I only have seen two set pics of her since last summer. Fighting that dude at the meuseum & jumping in the air in all black. Same with gal there's only like 5 pics of her from like two scenes. Everything is shot in a big ol green screen top flight security locked down studio.

I'd like a Cheetah skin costume at first like Priscilla Rich, but then transforming into a Cheetah.

They would have to explain why a archaeologist grown woman is dressed like cat. Is she a crazy cat lady like Selina in Batman returns?? We've seen that already.

Well she could worship a cheetah goddess. Or maybe she likes wearing cheetah skin clothes like some people wear leopard skin clothes.

I guess we've already seen the movie after watching injustice 2 gameplay in her movie costume vs cheetah haha.

Do you think they will borrow any of their fighting styles straight from the game? It would be awsome if Minerva did. I wonder has Patty watched cheetah in the game for inspiration? Has she ever even heard of injustice?

Minerva is such a cool sinister name I like saying it. My new last name.

I think Patty set this in 84 because she wants to capitalize off of the George perez run. Fans of Diana tell me that's the best version of her besides martsons. I've been doing research on ww & I like it too. He gave her flight in like 85? so Patty is highly possible to do the same. She's a fan of Georges run I think, I mean she used his cheetah version sooo....

Maybe something like Wednesday Comics where she just has a cheetah skin coat, or Alex Ross version where she wears the hides of cheetahs she killed and skinned herself.

George Perez really did a lot of great things in terms of bringing the WW mythos together. With the gods and villains etc.

The Perez era doesn't really have to be in the 80s era to work. Patty used a lot of his version of Ares in the first WW movie too. There is a lot to work with with his version of Cheetah.

Patty growing up in the 80s and obviously having a lot of affection for that era will be good for the movie.
