Wonder Woman on Smallville, now a possibility?

chances of X4 happening at all are still low!

if they can get whedon i'd say that would be the go for fox. i mean no wolverine but halle, ian and patrick are up for it.only worry is anna paquin- if they screw rogue again she won't do it, lets face it whedon is a kitty fan and likely to sideline rogue for kitty anytime. thats the only thing that worries me. marvel should put their foot down on the rogue situation:cmad:

the current x men team is wolverine-less. and its considered one of the best runs in years. it will take a killer script but i think whedon could do it. especially with it being a testosterone fest except for phoenix and storm then i expect he would do a great treatment because amazing women are his bread and butter

I view Smallville as a really great "Ultimate/ All-Star/ What If" storyline, separate from the DC continuity, however, still very connected. Although he doesn't meet any of his future Leaguers until much later in life, Smallville has broken much ground with having young Clark meet Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, Green Arrow and Martian Manhunter. There was talk for Season 3 that Bruce Wayne (Batman) would make an appearance, and ultimately get his own spin-off series. The character of Adam Knight (a combination between Adam West and The Dark Knight) mirrored Bruce's life - mysterious, intelligent, moody demeanor, well-trained fighter, and a ladies man. The producers were set to reveal him as Bruce Wayne, however with a new Batman movie in the works, they chose to leave his character out of the Smallvilleverse. Nonetheless, it would have been so great to see a young Bruce and Clark solve the next great Smallville/Metropolis tragedy.

Enter Wonder Woman:
In Season 3, during the episode "Asylum", we get a glimpse of a Daily Planet headline, which reads "Themysciran Queen Addresses..." (the rest is blocked out by a paper tray holder). So this proves that the Amazons do exist in Smallville continuity.

Although Diana does not enter "Man's World" until much later in her life, it would be really cool to see a young Wonder Woman on Smallville. I posted several plot summaries of some ideas I've had to include Diana in Smallville's universe.

Episode: "Amazon"
After two Amazons mysteriously die following an encounter with a strange alien creature (from the Phantom Zone) on Themyscira, Queen Hippolyta reluctantly sends her best Amazon after it to track it down and stop it, putting an end to a possible alien invasion. But when Diana enters Man's World and sees Clark use his powers to stop the creature she realizes that he is also an alien and must be stopped as well. It's a Diana vs Clark showdown. Is Clark a match for the Amazon powerhouse and her magic weapons!!

Episode: "Paradise"
A small charter plane crashes in the ocean near an uncharted island in the Bermuda Triangle, and its only surviving passenger - Lois Lane washes up on shore and is rescued by a young woman wearing silver bracelets. Diana's mission is simple - return Lois to "Man's World". But after her recent breakup with Oliver Queen and her Valentine's fiasco with Clark, Paradise is so perfect that Lois may want to stay forever! And what happens when Diana goes to Smallville and meets Clark Kent?

Episode: "Princess"
Diana, a foreign exchange student at Metropolis State University majoring in World Economics meets Chloe Sullivan during exam week. Trying to help her new friend forget about the stress of Mid-terms and her recent break-up with Jimmy Olsen, Diana treats Chloe like royalty in a Ladies Night out. But is Diana really who she says she is? It's up to intrepid investigative reporter Clark Kent to dig up the dirt and find out who Chloe's newest best buddy is replacing himself!

My choice for Smallville's Amazon Princess would be:

Jodi Lyn O'Keefe - (10/10/78 - 5'10")
Look no further. Jodi has not done many film/tv projects, however when she is on screen, she lights it up with pure magic. Her height makes her a statuesque choice for the role. Her beautiful eyes, gorgeous smile and raven colored hair all create one hell of a Wonder Woman!

Both ideas sounds good. But I highly doubt that she will be in because of the script picked up by wb. Whedon maybe out of directing this film but all they need to do is find someone else. However having wonder woman on smallville will strike interest for a movie to be made about her. Look at green arrows popularity on smallville. Sprint has been posting a oliver queen chronicles every week. They maybe testing to see if a show about the green arrow would work.

^ Really nice ideas there, phoenix. Not sure about the casting choice, but hey, it's an idea.

And let's not all forget Al Gough's quotes from a September Q&A with Ausiello:
And where exactly is Wonder Woman [in "Justice"]? "Ask Joel Silver," Gough grumbles. "He's the producer; he controls the movie rights. We'd do a whole Wonder Woman series if we had Wonder Woman, but Joss Whedon is writing the movie, so we can't have her." Damn, damn, damn!

That obviously shows they've thought about the character, and to a standpoint where they can see themselves doing an entire show based on her, let alone a guest stint on SV.

I edited my choice for Smallville's WW. Tell me what you think??

Yeah, I'm familiar with Jodi. That's a pretty solid choice.

My choice for a SV Wonder Woman is always Taylor Cole.

(Good god, was she gorgeous in that episode. :D)

An X-Men flick without Wolverine? Neva.
Well, I can tell you, I wouldn't be interested in an X-Men flick w/o Jackman. It'd be like watching SV w/o Welling. I mean really! What's the point? Y'know? :o

LOL Seriously though, those two are why I continue watch their respective franchises. :yay:

I would gladly watch an X-flick without wolverine, the guy should never have been featured the way he was. To many characters were shafted, and thats not what the X-men are about.

I never read an X-Men comic in my life. I don't care what the X-Men are supposed to be about. I could give two poops about their escapades in the comics, how much Singer changed bringing the characters to the screen (costumes, personalities, powers, importance, pecking order, etc.) Same goes for Spider-Man and the bloody organic web shooter arguments. All I want to see is a film that entertains me. I love superheroes, but if the title actor doesn't blow my skirt up, I have no interest in their franchise. Actors like Welling, Jackman, and Bale are worth every penny of my hard-earned cash. N00bs get one chance to make a fan out of me. Those that fail miserably are kicked to the side of the road. Actors are a dime a dozen. Truly talented ones are a little more rare, and those that capture my heart happen about once a decade. Literally. You heard of tough crowds? I wrote the instruction manual.

Thats interesting but sad, non the less the X-men movies have had to much wolverine. As a longtime comic fan of the characters, its hard to see wolverine be nothing more then a bucnh of one-liners, and the other charaterd reduced to supporting roles. I loved X-men 1 and 2, but X-men 3 was a disgrace.

Thats interesting but sad...
Why? Cause my opinion is different than yours? Because I don't read X-Men comics? Because all I want from a film (or a TV show, for that matter) is to be entertained?

It is what it is, Eros. Why should I spend money to see something that bores me? And y'know what? An X-Men film w/o Wolverine would bore me. He's my favorite character in that franchise. I don't care how important or not he is in comic continuity. I saw the first film w/o any preconceived notions of what it was about or how it deviated from pre established characterizations. Didn't care about that stuff. He was the reason I went to see the second and third films, and I'd be happy to inform Mr. Lee about that if I ever got a chance to shake his hand.

The actor chosen to play the title role to any such seminal character is WICKED important to how audiences perceive that character. Look at the controversy with Storm. Hell.... look at the arguments among Superman fans. 'Nuf said. Some trepidation is unfounded - reference the new actor playing James Bond - but even HE had to prove himself worthy of the role with general audiences. I guess it comes down to the "IT" factor. Depending on the role, actors either have it or they don't. Jackman has "it" as Wolverine with me, despite the protestations among fanboys. In terms of X-Men and even F4, I have zero preconceived notions. I truly AM in the "general audience" group when it comes to opinions on those films.

Superman... well... I'll cop to being a leetle biased on dat un. :p

Man! RedK with a splash of Bacardi. Mmmm... life is good. LOL

I see where you comeing from, but I still wish you would invest in the comics Pat, they are amazing.Atleast watch the popular animated show from the 90s, its a good way to get to know them without haveing to invest in decades worth of comics.

Wolverine and Jackman are at the heart of the franchise Fox has built. To try to go on without the core is....well, in a word, stupid.

I buy Superman comics all the time. There's quite a few series to keep up with, but just keeping up with those is hard. I honestly don't have the time (or interest?) in reading other comics, though I do read Batman from time to time. I have a very busy life at home and at work; it's hard enough keeping up with SV stuff, though that is one of my bigger fish that I fry. I rarely go to the movies. The last film I saw in the theater was Pirates 2. Yeah... really! LOL For me, it really comes down to appeal, which is why I get very ornery when I spend money to see a film that I didn't like. Sometimes I just take a chance, but most of the time the advertised story has to really float my boat for me to see it. Once at the theater, I hope and pray the cast has chemistry and they're fun to watch. Knowing a favorite actor is in the flick limits the "risk" factor. Jackman's definitely up there in appeal, and I'd pay to hear Welling read from a phonebook...

:D

Excellent choice, however I would save Taylor Cole (and her looks) for the film (whenever that comes out).

I've seen her on some of her appearances. She looks alot like Lynda Carter but noticeably younger looking and has a slightly thinner build.

Hmm, familiar.

thats where they've shot themselves in the foot. wolverine has never been the heart of the x men. its a team with cyclops as the traditional leader. thats why there has been so many line ups in the comics the core of the men is the idea- whoever fights for it can be shifted but the idea remains.

it seems though the WB has bought a script and they may go ahead with that one meaning smallville is out of the question. sad:csad:

Problem is, she's really not the type of actress I'd put as my lead in a big budget feature film. Just hasn't shown the chops yet, IMO. But for SV, she'd be perfect.

Wolverine is my all time least favorite comics character ever....if they made an x4 without wolverine, id do somersaults....in fact i hope they make a comic called Death of Wolverine, and send him the way of uncle ben.

Why?

i find him a boring uninspired one -trick pony, that glorifies violence for violence sake, whose wit is couched in the words bub and chuck.

I like ur takes on things and a good choice of actress
