So for those of us who play regularly, what is your progression? How far into end game have you gotten for your main and/or alts?

My 70 Ret Paladin has ran Kara and I'm doing BGs with him to get some of the PVP gear. I have another Ret Paladin (Belf) that I've gotten to 42 but I've stopped with that. Then I have a bunch of other characters all in the lvl 20 ish range.

Wow, which rock have you been living under the last few patches?

I've been playing a paladin since 2.1. Ret Pallies are still completely trash, unless you're an incredibly skilled player. Maybe 1 out of every 5000.

Like Boomkins. To be good with them, you have to actuawlly have skill. Which, no offense, but I've seen hundreds of people go "IM A SKILLED RET PALLY!" and yet I dominate them in a duel with healing gear/holy specced.

So like I said, outside of v3's, ret pallies are useless. And the only reason they're good in v3's is because they can stun (forcing someone to blow a CD to get out of it), then bust (hopefully) the 4crit chain that makes them absolutely useless for another 6 seconds.

Unless you have super high health most people die under a crit barrage by Ret paladins. It really only takes 2 seconds for them to completely dominate another player.

1500white +2k yellow +2k yellow =/= instant death, even for a scrubbed out mage.

Dude you're only getting crits that low if your gear is trash. A well geared Ret paladin will usually get around 2.5k white crits with 3k yellow.

I'm actually now dating the girl tanking the Maiden.

Now I have about 3 days /played and only at level 26. Is this a fair progression, or am I going a bit too slow?

That's not horrible. I think it's fairly good progression for someone new to the game (which I am going to assume you are). It all depends on what your end goals are and if you have people who are expecting you to level quickly to help them out or not. Honestly, I prefer to enjoy the game and do the quest chains, gain rep as I go, read some of the story, and just have fun. I don't like it when WoW becomes a job. :P I already have one of those.

And I shouldn't spend much time in this thread, you guys will make me want to play again! And for those curious, I have a 70 Undead Priest on Bloodscalp, and a smattering of alts on other realms and on Bloodscalp, but no other 70s, even though I've played for over 3 years. XD

Still.. 3 days /played at level 26 is a good pace. It'll become a bit more of a grind as you get closer to the 40s, and the instances in that level range get tedious and no one wants to run them (think Maraudon, Uldaman, Gnomeregan). You might be fortunate to get a good PUG, but I'd look into finding a guild that's willing to help you out some if you haven't already. :)

Actually, I have a 70 pally from another server, but it's been a long time since I level a new character to 70 so it feels new to me. I generally hate leveling, since it is monotonous and bored, and the game really begins at 70. Right now, I can only play about 1-2 hour a day (sometimes more), so it is tough for me to progress faster. I like instances but I will probably skip almost all of them because they are really time-consuming. I just want to get to 70 so I can do arenas with people I know, and get my epic flight form (druid).

I Have a level 32 Tauren Hunter named Cormel

(not that any of you would care cuz you all have 70s) :sob:

BlizzCon 2008 is announced for October 10-11. I'm hoping I can attend it (which will make it my 3rd BlizzCon). Does anyone else plan to go as well?

Just like every other MMO that's come out, or is going to come out, right?

The only way for a game to substantially destory WoW is to have over 7 million of it's subscribers all simultaniously quit and join AoC. That's just not ever going to happen.

I'm more interested in a good community than the largest.
World of warcraft has the largest, but also arguably the worst.
.

Because of the steep system requirements and mature rating (yea that's gona stop "lolz" kiddy's) it wont, however, it doesn't mean it wont be a better mmo or steal a proportion of subscribers.

I think that Warhammer Online probably has a better chance of competing against WOW, due to the fact that Warhammer universe is well-established, and there are similarities between the two. But I'll stick with WOW because it is more casual-friendly, and after having a kid, time is at a premium and I no longer have alot of free time for gaming anymore.

I never said it wasn't going to be good. I was just saying, for any game to crush WoW, they'd have to steal about 7million of their subscribers.

One thing I do hope will be implemented in WOW is mounted combat. I saw a demo on YT for AOC's mount combats and they look fantastic. Since other MMOs stole many ideas off WOW, I hope WOW will do likewise as well.

Wow took alot of stuff from previous mmo's (and rpg's) to begin with, made it alot better though.

Yeah, I don't think it's bad because if the idea is good, then there is no reason not to use it.

Now my goal is to get my druid to 70 before BlizzCon, because if it's like the last time, you'll be able to transfer your characters to the WotLK server and test out the new contents. I hope the new expansion will be more playable in this BlizzCon.

I decided to try World of Warcraft out on a trial basis. I just went to sign on and it said there is a six hour wait. Is this usual? If so, there is no way I will be buying this.

lol, dude...your new. UPDATES.

You've got a couple years of updates in a few hours. That's not to bad.

I just bout the Warcraft III Battlechest, I've read WoW lore but never played any game in the series outside of WoW itself.
